New Oak Boys 6 St. Annes 3
New Oak Boys took the three points on offer with a brilliant second half display which seen them recover from being two goals down at half time. The hosts started the game really well and it wasn't long before the ever lively Kyle Kinsella got them off the mark with a well taken goal from the left side. The goal seemed to give the visitors a jolt and it livened their play up somewhat. Mark Hickey getting the first after getting in behind New Oaks defence after some smart play. Roan Brennan, the big No.8, getting himself on the scoresheet twice. The second was a looping effort which just got the better of Kennedy in the New Oak goal. New Oak were rocked! The home side pressed the Anne's defence and were unlucky to go in at half time two goals down. Cormac Murphy, Darragh Casey and Kaylem Geoghegan all going very close but couldn't find the back of the net. New Oak changed things up at the break and this made the difference. Needing an early goal to get themselves back into contention, three goals in 8 minutes was to follow for the Burrin Road outfit and this was the turning point of the game. Kaylem Geoghegan, Cormac Murphy and Darragh Casey getting on the scoresheet. New Oak were flying now and they attacked the Anne's defence time and time again. They needed one more to make things comfortable but got two!! Tobias Stobra and Leigh Slattery putting daylight between the sides. Stobra making a real difference when brought on assisted with two of the home sides overall tally. A good morning for the young winger! Others to impress for New Oak were Siobhan Sinnot and Mia Farrell. For St. Anne's Tiernan O Donoghue, Mark Hickey and Roan Brennan were stand out performers.
