St Annes and Burrin Celtic played out a thrilling 2-2 draw this morning with both teams really going for it till the end. The match was quick to take off after the whistle withburring going on an early attack forcing Mark Kennedy in the Annes goal into action.
The deadlock was broken when Ciaran Loughman shot a low hard drive accross the Burrin Goal and going in off the opposite post. A lovely finish. Burrin didnt let the goal get them down and they quickly equalised with a lovely worked goal which resulted in an equally nice goal. The half time whistle went and both teams went in for a well deserved break.
The second half was just the same. End to end action. Barry Stynes seemed to be everywhere on the pitch for St Annes. His dogged workrate resulted in a ball coming out to Mark Kennedy out on the right hand side and a beautifully drifted effort sailed over the Burrin keepers head for an absolutely stunning finish. Burrin again came at Annes with the same aggession and commitment and all there hard work paid off again as they forced their way through the middle of St Annes whites defence and finished it off with a low driving shot past the Annes keeper. Burrin almost snached it at the end and would have if bot for a brilliant goal line clearance from debutant Ryan Davis.
A thrilling game which resulted in a well deserved point for each team.
