A late Lachlann Smith goal gave Bally all three points in this entertaining fixture in Ballymurphy this morning. Bally started the stronger and took the lead on 5 mins through Darragh Coleman with a great finish. Nurney however dug in again and deservedly got their equaliser with 7 mins left with a great strike.

However, with only 3 mins left on the clock Lachlann Smith bursted through the Nurney defence and cooly slotted home to give all three points to the men in white and green.

The second half was a different story with Burrin dominating the entire half and should have been level early into the half only for the goal to be disallowed. This spurred Burrin on and there relentless pressure finally paid off with just four minutes remaining on the clock when a cross was smashed home on the volley at the back post by Dylan O Reilly who’s powerful effort gave the keeper no chance. Burrin got the three points they deserved when Evan Corr scored in stoppage time with a free kick from outside the box

At the start of the second half there were chances for both teams but couldnt be converted until Burrin were awarded a penalty for a hand ball, with New Oak a man down Aaron Dowling neatly slid home the penalty for 3 2, with the next goal vital and both sides squandering chances a cross from the left missed everyone until Jack Kelly came in at the back post to volley an unstoppable shot to the roof of the net to make it 4 2, New Oak defended resolutely but with 5 minutes to go Billy Flynn found himself in the box unmarked and drilled home from close range and so it finished 5 2 to Burrin, great credit to both sides for a very entertaining game.
