Parkville United AFC v Vale Wanderers AFC
6 goal thriller ends in deadlock
U15 League 07/12 10:00
Parkville United AFC 3 - 3 Vale Wanderers AFC

Parkville started well and could have had 2 inside the first ten minutes. Vale soaked it up and responded very well joe Comerford first hitting the crossbar and eventually tapping a cross from the right flank into the back of the net after 20 minutes.

The goal seemed to spur Parkville on, the dynamic Cormac Byrne creating a number of chances down the right-wing eventually threaded a perfectly weighted ball to Raul Plaza who showed his exceptional skill to score.

On 27 minutes Niall Kinsella was at the business end of some clever passing play, beat his defender and finished well.

The second half Vales pace again caused Parkville difficulties at the back forcing a number of saves from the excellent Oisin Lyons in Goal. Vale eventually equalised 20 mins into the 2nd through the pace and skill of Jeremy Hai who had been causing problems throughout.

A minute later Oran Kirwan got what he deserved for his clever play and work rate finishing an inviting pass from Matthew Fisher who also had a huge game for Parkville.

Vale battling all the way with exceptional performances from Adam Collins, Joey Byrne and Tadgh O’Neil eventually drew level again in the final minute, through a fine strike from the edge of the box by Charlie Nolan.

Great team performance by Parkville whose pass and move game was a contrast to Vales pace and Power. Parkville’s Jamie Haugh had a rock-solid game coming on as an injury replacement into right back early on.

Clinical Vale secure victory
u13 League div 2 07/12 12:15
Vale Wanderers AFC Green 4 - 2 Hanover Harps AFC
This game proved to be a very lively affair which was a credit to both sides who were short on numbers on the day. And although a hard-fought victory for the home side ensued the scoreline does belie the efforts of a very good game and courageous Hanover side.
Hanover started very brightly and did fashion a few early chances but some very good defending by the Vale lads kept the sides level for the opening ten minutes. As the half wore on however the Carlow lads continued to pressurise and their efforts were duly rewarded when Alex Carey scored the opening goal. The lead proved short-lived however as Mikey Dowling scored an excellent equalizer through a stunning free-kick. However once again up stepped Hanover to regain the lead after some sloppy play in the Vale backline allowed Ruari Lyons to finish nicely in the bottom corner.
Into the second half Vale’s superior numbers began to tell and Mikey Dowling secured his second after some great play down the right flank. James Kavanagh then made it three for the Vale lads with momentum now clearly with the home side. Hanover continued to rally however and gave as good as they got as the midfield battle continued. Nevertheless, it was Vale who struck again when Ruarc O’Neill slotted home nicely from inside the area. The game now opened up even more as Hanover continued to press for that elusive third goal. But despite some clever and innovative play this wasn’t to be their day.
Overall a very entertaining affair with Vale deservedly taking the spoils after a great second-half performance. Hanover can also be proud of their efforts however in light of being a man down for the duration of the second half. On the day the goalscorer’s for Vale were extremely clinical and for Hanover keeper Bobby Jordan played his heart out on the day.

Milltown United AFC 2 - 3 Baltinglass Town AFC

Miltown United and Baltinglas Town served up a cracker in Myshall this morning where it finished 3-2 to Baltinglas. Both teams started well and created chances but it was Baltinglas who struck first, in the 9th minute, with an opportunist goal when Reece Quinn Burke took a speculative shot from midfield which deceived the Miltown keeper and ended up in the top corner. But Miltown United were undeterred and scored through a brilliant run and side step from Coady Cahill in the 11th minute. The game really opened up after this and both sides missed good chances until in the 29th minute when Baltinglas’s Christopher O Toole did really well to score despite close attention from the Miltown defence. In the 37th minute Paddy O Connell scored for Baltinglas to make it 3-1 and it looked like game over for Miltown United. But the home team dug deep and despite missing some good chances and a penalty they never gave up. Eventually a great ball from Liam Murphy put Coady Cahill trough again and he showed great pace and skill to make it 3-2 with two minutes left. Try as they might Miltown couldn’t rescue the point and on the final whistle it was smiles all around for the Baltinglas lads.

Best for Miltown we’re Seán Healy, Emer Nolan and Darragh Fitzgearld.

For Baltinglas it was a great overall team effort b

St Patrick's Boys AFC 2 - 0 Hanover Harps AFC

This was a game that had it all but a good Pat's side walked away with all the points.

This was a game that was played under perfect conditions, the ground was firm, grass long and weather perfect with no rain or wind.

The game started well for Pat's who dominated the opening 5 minutes of play. Just as Hannover looked like they were getting into the game Pat's scored through Sean Murphy who burst through the defence and slotted to the left of the goalie. After that it was a 50/50 game with both teams attacking for the rest of the half.

The second half started well for Pat's who again attacked and scored after about 10 minutes from a cross into the box from Sergio which was tapped in by Angel. Hannover were down but not out and nearly scored through a clever shot which hit the post and was cleared by the Pat's defence. Hannover never gave up but as the game went on Pat's dominate same.

Scorers for Pat's - Sean Murphy and Super Sergio.

Best for Pat's - Charlie McNamara, Sean Murphy and Sean O'Neill. No man of the match but overall this was a great Pat's team performance.
