Hanover Harps AFC v St Fiacc's AFC
u14 1 cup 20/05 11:00
Hanover Harps AFC 2 - 4 St Fiacc's AFC

U14 cup final

St Fiaccs 4- Hanover 2

There was a strong breeze playing a major factor in the game . The game got underway and both sides applied pressure from the off . We knew this game had huge potential for any neutral as the teams had met three times this season with a win each and a draw this game was anyone's.

St Fiaccs were first off the mark with a superb Scott Roycroft goal within 5 mins Jack Byrne had added another goal for Fiaccs. For the remainder if the half Fiaccs were very much in control with John O Shea making it 3-0 just before half time .

The second half got underway and Hanover came out fighting they were awarded a penalty which they converted.

This put great life into Hanover

Fiaccs were defending in numbers but Hanover did manage to get a second goal . It was game on with only a goal separating the sides . The game looked like it could head for extra time when Hanover were awarded a free kick much to the delight of the boys in blue it cane if the crossbar and the rebound was well saved by fiaccs keeper Jack Curran .

We were into the final minutes of the game with every player working extremely hard for their team Jack Curran kicked a long ball out and found Scott Roycroft and to his delight he spotted Terry French ahead of him after some lovely play Terry French slotted home the all important goal to seal the deal for Fiaccs . Well done to both teams who produced a thriller of a game .

St Patrick's Boys AFC v St Fiacc's AFC
12 1 cup 20/05 14:00
St Patrick's Boys AFC 2 - 3 St Fiacc's AFC

U12 CUP FINAL. Saint Fiaccs v Saint Pats Not a game for the faint hearted. A nervous start from both sides to begin with and not to many clear cut chances with both sides defending very well but the gridlock was broken when Daniel Corcoran powered through to fire home and give Fiaccs the lead. Pats however came back fighting and struck home to tie the game just before the first half ended. Half - time 1 - 1. The second half started off with Fiaccs changing tactics in the hope of finding the lead and this payed dividends when Dylan Murphy escaped the tight markings of the pats defenders to strike the back of the net and give Fiaccs the lead. However yet again Pats came back and were rewarded with another goal to tie the game again at 2 - 2. Both teams pressed on trying to find a winning goal and this almost came to Fiaccs only for an unbelievable one handed save from by the Pats goalkeeper from a very powerful shot. With the prospect of extra-time looming it was a day for Super-Sub Corey Purcell who with literally the last kick of the game found the Pats net and won Fiaccs the game and the cup. Final score Fiaccs 3 pats 2. A very tight contest from start to finish - best for Fiaccs Daniel Corcoran Lorcan Dempsey and Emma Doyle well done to all that played.

Hanover Harps AFC v St Joseph's AFC
16CUP 20/05 15:00
Hanover Harps AFC 6 - 5 St Joseph's AFC

Hanover v St.Josephs U16 Cup Final started at a frantic pace with both teams playing high tempo football that was physical but fair with no quarter being asked or given. Harps seemed to create the better chances but were a little wasteful in front of goal. St. Josephs were always a danger with their direct football and Klaudiusz Mazur was having a superb day in goal for Harps. The game continued at a fast pace in the second half when St. Josephs found a way through the Harps defence. Harps keeper was adjudged to foul the oncoming St. Joseph’s striker and a penalty was given. Klaudiusz Mazur redeemed himself by saving the penalty to keep his team in the final. Extra time came and both teams left everything they had on the pitch to try and win the Cup but the game went to penalties. Klaudiusz Mazur was again the hero for Hanover in the penalty shoot out saving 2 penalties to complement the penalties scored by his teammates to win 6-5 and the Under 16 cup was awarded Hanover Harps. Every single player played superbly for Harps on the day, it was a great all around team performance

St Joseph's AFC v Crettyard United AFC
Resolute St Joseph's overcome Crettyard after extra time and penalties
13 2 cup 20/05 12:00
St Joseph's AFC 9 - 8 Crettyard United AFC

St Joseph's 9 v Crettyard United 8 (AET and penalties)

This game was a real cup final in every sense of the word with both teams wholly focused on playing football and trying to pass the ball, while being fully committed in a passionate and sporting game befitting the occasion.

St Josephs started brightly and deservedly opened the scoring via the irrepressible James Ingram with a typically calm finish. Crettyard levelled the scoring early in the second half in what was developing into a compelling game. St Joseph's took the lead again via a composed finish from the excellent Cillian Moore after a period of dominance from Joeys. Cretty, however, were not behind for long and were level inside two minutes taking advantage of St Joseph's briefest of concentration lapses.

In extra time chances were at a premium, with Cillian Moore drawing a top drawer save from the Crettyard keeper the only real chance, before the lottery of penalties decided the destination of the trophy. In the shootout Conall McGuire was immense saving two Crettyard penalties while John Byrne held his nerve to slot his spotkick home and send the trophy home to St Josephs.

Goalscorers for St Joseph's were James Ingram and Cillian Moore in what was a superb performance and season by all players.

Crettyard goalscorers were Tadgh Dinnen and Jack Gorman, as part of a fantastic effort by all players in the squad.

Hanover Harps AFC v Killeshin AFC
u13 1 cup 20/05 13:30
Hanover Harps AFC 2 - 0 Killeshin AFC

Hanover completed the treble today with a well earned win over a battling Killeshin. Both teams played some good football and it was Josh Brady who got Hanover the lead with a well taken goal with great build up play. Ben McCarron had to be alert in goal as Killeshin had their chances. Hanover started to settle into the game and Lee Carpenter had a good chance to make it two nil but missed the target. Cialan Brady was causing problems down the left and he set up Josh Brady to score his second with a wonderful finish to make it 2-0 at halftime. In the second half both teams tried hard but the defense held firm for both sides. Jack Feehan and Alan Bohanna had chances to add to the lead but the game ended 2-0 to Hanover. Best were Andrew Vint, Luke Murphy, Harry Brown and the lively Jamie Walker

St Patrick's Boys AFC Red v Hanover Harps AFC
u15 cup 20/05 12:30
St Patrick's Boys AFC Red 1 - 3 Hanover Harps AFC

Hanover Harps finished off their season today with victory over St Patrick's Boys in the Cup Final played in New Oak’s grounds.

Harps started the game with a strong wind in their backs and soon settled into their passing game and had St Patrick's Boys under early pressure. The opening goal came when Evan Gorry raced onto a through ball and beat Callum Carter in the Pat’s goal. Harps doubled the lead when Myles Hutton scored after beating a couple of defender's which saw his first effort blocked but he quickly got up to send the ball to the net. St Patricks Boys to their credit never gave up and in the second half found themselves back in the game when a good dribbling run along the end-line by Matthew Gleeson resulted in St Pat's slotting the ball past past Matthew McCutcheon to make it 2-1. St Pat's Boys pushed forward looking for an equaliser and got caught on the break which resulted in a free kick which was taken by John Ryan, who duly found the net with a well taken free to restore Harps two goal lead.

Niki Judin shot narrowly wide after his introduction and Harps had another opportunity excellently saved by Carter. At the final whistle a 3-1 win for Harps was a perfect end to a tough season and who were best served today by Captain Kian Lawlor, Javi Garcia and Bryan McMahon. Best for a gallant St Patrick's Boys team on the day were Michael Hosey, Matthew Gleeson and Conor Kelly.

16CUP 12/05 10:30
Hanover Harps AFC 2 - 1 Killeshin AFC

Hanover Harps 2-1 Killeshin (aet)

Both teams were up for this semi final and it was end to end from the first minute until the last. Killeshin capitalised on a mistake in the Hanover backline to take the leads 10 mins before halftime. Hanover didn't roll over and got their equaliser 1 min before the end of the first half. The second half was a masterclass in goalkeeping with both goalkeepers producing 2 or 3 top class saves each. With the game tied at 1-1 the game went to extra time. Hanover won a free kick 35 yards out two mins before half time and Luke Ramsbottom delivered an excellent ball into the box, which Arnas Ubartas got a foot on the end of and stuck it into the roof of the net. Both teams battled until the end but Hanover held off Killeshin to earn a place in the Cup Final. An all round great team performance for both teams

U11 and U10 Blitz Format
Blitz procedure

This year the format for u11 and u10 is dual games as above in the diagram so there is two games going on at the same time across a big pitch. There will be one official ref and the clubs take it in turn to officiate the other game. The ref swaps pitches at half time so all kids get equal time with ref. There will be four teams at most grounds every week unless a club ask for the day off. If two of the teams are from the same club then we play two 40 minute matches (20mins a half) to avoid the club playing against itself.

New Oak Boys AFC v St Fiacc's AFC
ST FIACCS WIN IN EXTRA TIME.
u14 1 cup 10/05 19:00
New Oak Boys AFC 2 - 4 St Fiacc's AFC

St. Fiaccs advanced to the final after a very keenly contested match. St. Fiaccs came out of the blocks fast and went ahead in the second minute through a unfortunate own goal. New Oak responded well and Adam Shaw levelled the tie on ten minutes. The wind was causing havoc and it helped a Emmanuelle Almedia corner all the way to the net with five minutes of the half remaining.

Fiaccs started the second half the same way and Conor Harte headed a equalizer two minutes in. With the wind advantage Fiaccs piled the pressure on but could not find a way past a hard working New Oak team and both teams had to settle for extra time.

Once again Fiaccs started well and Aaron Dorgan finished well to put them in front. and with New Oak looking for a equalizer Fiaccs had space to work and in the second half Scott Roycroft finished well to seal the tie.

Best for St. Fiaccs were Jack Byrne, Aaron Dorgan and Josh Bienko.

It was a brave effort from a hard working New Oak side.

Jason Brennan was the Harps hero as the keeper scored one penalty and saved 2 more as Hanover edged United on spot kicks to book a final place. Hanover were the better side early on and hit the front on 20 minutes through Harry Lloyd. Crettyard came back and were level at half time when Shane Buggy headed home from a corner. Encouraged by that goal United hit the front early in the second half when Dara Kelly smashed home from 12 yards. Extra time saw Harps regain the lead when Ronan Quinlan fired home from a tight angle at the back post.
