St Patrick's Boys AFC Pink v Hanover Harps AFC

St Patrick's Boys AFC Pink 1 - 3 Hanover Harps AFC

Hanover Harps AFC took all points on offer today with a well deserved win over St. Patrick's Boys (Pink) at the Meadows. The visitors took the lead early in the first half and followed up soon after with two more well taken goals. St. Patrick's Boys got into the game when their defence started getting the upper hand mid way through the first half. They started to work the ball out of defence with better passing to their mid-field partners who in turn created a number of attacking opportunities. The home side's efforts were rewarded when a great strike from the left wing by Lily O'Neill took a deflection and hit the net shortly before half time. 1 - 3 at the break. The second half was evenly fought with St. Patrick's Boys (Pink) very unlucky not to add to their tally. Scorers for Hanover Harps AFC were Kealan Quigley (2) and Liam Labozia Heydon (1). Scorer for St. Patrick's Boys (Pink) was Maeve O'Neill. Best for the visitors were Lee O'Brien, Megan Townsend and Callum Carlin, while Aoife Kelly, Maeve O'Neill and Lily O'Neill all played very well for St. Pats.

St Joseph's AFC 3 - 0 Nurney Villa AFC

St Joseph’s hosted Nurney in their second meeting this season. The visitors settled quickest and took control for the first 10 minutes. Eventually Joey’s got into the game and after a couple of counter attacks Evan McAteer slotted one home to open the scoring. Joey’s added a second before the break from a clinical finish by Franek Slawatycki. The second half was similar to the first and credit to the visitors they kept the pressure on, creating a couple of good chances and were denied by keeper Conall McGuire. Joey’s third came when Luke Broderick broke from the back and put a through ball to Oscar Cuevas, who placed it in the bottom corner to seal the points for Joey’s.

St Joseph’s Goal scorers - Evan McAteer(1), Franek Slawatycki(1), Oscar Cuevas(1)

On Saturday 22nd October Crettyard UTD AFC Juvenile club "Showed Racism the red card!"

Our small club is located off the N78 in rural county Laois , situated close to the borders of both Kilkenny and Carlow.

Our engagement with the campaign was simple but effective . Both our Under 13 and Under 12 teams were playing their league games against Hanover Harps and Vale wanderers . Both Cretty yard team managers Ramon Buggy and Martin Rice gave full support by allowing pre match preparation to be interrupted by Aine Geoghegan (Club Secretary)

St Anne's AFC 0 - 14 Burrin Celtic AFC

There is not much to say about this match as the result tells. St Anne's were totally outclassed by Burrin Celtic, a defeat like this does little for the losing side and you would have to wonder what Burrin Celtic have gained either with such little opposition against them. Scorers for Burrin were eamonn lalor 3, jack o neill 3, myles huton 2, rob flynn 2, cian byrne 1, diego dunne 1, jamie fitzgerald 1, and evan connolly 1.

St Patrick's Boys AFC Red v Hanover Harps AFC
U15 Lge 18/11 13:00
St Patrick's Boys AFC Red 3 - 2 Hanover Harps AFC

St Patrick's Boys U15's Red team defeated Hanover Harps U15's 3-2 in a very closely contested match in The Meadows, Graiguecullen.

St Patrick's Boys went 1-0 up courtesy of a well worked goal which was finished off by Michael Hosey from a Darragh Kelly cross. Hanover battled back into contention and scored from a corner kick when good work by Evan Gory at the back post resulted in the Hanover' equaliser. Matthew Gleeson (St Pats) was fouled in the penalty area before the half time break and Jamie Murphy scored from the resultant penalty kick.

Hanover came out on the offensive in the second half and took the game to St Pats. Hanover were rewarded in the twelfth minute of the second half when a cross from Eoghan Byrne was finished well by Evan Gory with a header to the top corner. Both sides were now attacking looking for a winner and another well worked combination play by St Pat's resulted in a cross from Darragh Kelly finding Alex Kelliher free in the area, his header looped over the Hanover keeper to put St Pats 3-2 up. Hanover tried valiantly to score an equaliser and were very unlucky on a number of occasions when St Pats last ditch defending managed to keep Hanover out for the rest of the game.

Best players for St Pats were Daniel Core, Cillian Fagan and Darragh Kelly.

U11 and U10 Blitz Format
Blitz procedure

This year the format for u11 and u10 is dual games as above in the diagram so there is two games going on at the same time across a big pitch. There will be one official ref and the clubs take it in turn to officiate the other game. The ref swaps pitches at half time so all kids get equal time with ref. There will be four teams at most grounds every week unless a club ask for the day off. If two of the teams are from the same club then we play two 40 minute matches (20mins a half) to avoid the club playing against itself.

Nurney Villa AFC v Parkville United AFC
Nurney villa vs parkville
U16 Lge 18/11 14:30
Nurney Villa AFC 11 - 1 Parkville United AFC

On a cold and wet afternoon this game was a lot closer in the opening half than the score line suggests. Nurney opened the scoring from Adam lee who hit an unstoppable shot that gave the keeper no chance. Nurney had all the possession in the first half and looked to be in complete control . However they were hit with a sucker punch when parkville hit them on the break and josh Dunne equalised . It looked as if both teams would be going in level at the break but Brooklyn dermody slipped through the parkville defence to put Nurney in the lead at half time. It looked as it was all to play for in the second half but two quick goals from Brooklyn dermody in the second half opened the floodgates and Nurney became completely dominant. Further goals were scored by Brooklyn dermody ,Adam lee , Michael mullins , padraig Nolan and Sean raftry in a dominant Nurney performance ,Aaron Quinn , Cian Byrne and Stephan Murphy tried hard for parkville.

St Anne's AFC v Vale Wanderers AFC
u13 div 1 18/11 15:00
St Anne's AFC 3 - 5 Vale Wanderers AFC

Another dissapointing result for St Annes against their visitors from Vale today.

St Anne's allowed Vale to score after only 3 minutes with a silly defensive error. St Anne's played them selves back into the game when Cathal Casey scored a well worked team goal on the 21st minute. Vale continued to pressure St Annes and got a second goal just before half time.1-2 at the break. St Anne's came out strong in the second half and scored on the 35min when Mackenzie Mc Ivors cross into the box was dispatched into the net by Patrick O Connor. 2-2 and the game was all to play for. Unfortunately, more St Annes defensive errors allowed Vale to score two unanswered goals in the 43rd and 48th minutes. St Anne's never gave up and Cathal got his second goal of the day after an assist from Mackenzie.

Vale got their last goal with 2 minutes to go and that was the end of a very competitive match. 3 - 5 to Vale Wanderers who worked hard for the win.

Hanover Harps AFC v St Joseph's AFC
u13 div 2 18/11 10:00
Hanover Harps AFC 3 - 2 St Joseph's AFC

A fantastic game of football played in horrible conditions, the home team started the better of the 2 teams with Hanover getting on the ball in midfield and dictating the play. Hanover were rewarded for their efforts with a great through ball to David Jacob to finish past the keeper. The chances kept coming for Hanover and a surging run down the right from Adam Seger led to a rash challenge and David Jacob converted the penalty. To their credit St. Josephs are not a team to lie down and a through ball over the top and some courageous play led to a goal before half time. HT Score 2-1.

The second half was a much more even affair with both teams getting on the ball, Jay Barcoe in midfield got on the ball and dictated the play for St.Josephs and eventually the pressure began to come on the Hanover defence and a rash challenge led to a penalty decision from the referee who had an excellent game. The Penalty was clinically converted to make the score 2-2. The game hung in the balance when Evan Askins crossed to pick out David Jacob in the box who made a brave lunge to poke home. The goal meant Jacob got his hatrick and he won it for Hanover at the death, who, perhaps on the balance of play over the match probably deserved the win.

Scorers:

Hanover David Jacob x 3

St. Josephs Bobby Doyle, Jonah Webb

Best for:

Hanover David Jacob, Mark O Brien, Adam Seger

St. Josephs Orla Woods, Sarah Nolan, Jay Barcoe

Hatricks from Shauna O'Neill and Rachel Doyle were the backbone of a comfortable win for the girls from Carlow town. Hanover started brightly with Beth Evesson and Sara Kerfah pulling the strings in midfield. Early goals from Maria O Callaghan, Evesson, O'Neill and Doyle settled any nerves. Sophia Weade added a late penalty to seal the win for Hanover.

Hanover Harps AFC v Slaney Rovers AFC
u14 div 1 18/11 12:45
Hanover Harps AFC 3 - 3 Slaney Rovers AFC

Two second half goals from Brandon Kelly earned Slaney a share of the spoils on Saturday. Hanover raced out of the blocks and Kyle Foley had them ahead after just 2 minutes. On 15 minutes it was 2-0 when Stephen Smith fired home from 20 yards. Hanover made it 3-0 with a fine free kick from Harry Lloyd before Robert McHugh made it 3-1 just minutes later. The second half saw a series of missed chances at both ends, Jack Dunne almost made it 4-1 as his effort came back off the post before 2 goals in as many minutes from Kelly midway through the half ensured a cracking game ended all square. Best for Hanover were Mikee Horohan, Cillian McGrath and Jason Brennan. Slaney's best included Jamie Furlong, Sam Collier and Dylan McCann.
