Ballymurphy Celtic White v St Joseph's AFC
Bally make Semi Final
U12 cup 21/04 19:00
Ballymurphy Celtic White 5 - 0 St Joseph's AFC

This was a great win for Ballymurphy despite a fighting display from St Josephs who fought to the death.

In perfect conditions, St Josephs started the better and forced an early corner which was dealt with well by the bally defence.

On 15 mins Ballymurphy took the lead following a scramble in box with the alert Shane Jordan on hand to slot home. Bally made it 2-0 on 23 mins with a brilliant Charlie Foley goal to the top corner after a great solo run. The game was effectively over on 28 mins when James Flood scored direct from a corner.

HT 3-0

After the break, it was more of the same with Shane Jordan grabbing his 2nd on 40 mins and then wrapped up his hat trick from from the penalty spot on 56 mins.

Josephs tried to pull a goal back and were very unlucky with a rasper of a shot hitting the crossbar on 57 mins.

Best for Bally were Dylan King, Shane Jordan and Dian Foley

New Oak u12 Div1 Champions
Hanover Harps AFC v New Oak Boys AFC
New Oak secure title on final day!
u12 league 19/04 18:45
Hanover Harps AFC 0 - 2 New Oak Boys AFC

On a sunny evening at The Plots Hanover welcomed New Oak with the visitors needed just a point to secure the league but it was the home side that had the better of the opening exchanges with lots of pressure but without that finishing touch which has served them so well this season. With plenty of tough tackles going in from both teams but there was nothing between them at half time with the score 0-0 at the break.

The second half was still a cagey affair but New Oak eventually got their goal and followed up with a second minutes later. The game finished 0-2 to see New Oak secure the league title.

Best for Hanover were Connor Wall, Senan Sheehan, and Anthony Brennan.

New Oak had a strong all round squad performance.

New Oak needed to avoid defeat in this u12 div1 derby to secure the title and did so in some style.

Following a scoreless 1st half, New Oak came out in the second on the front foot and on 35 mins a surging run from Daniel Custerson saw him break through and cross for Keelan Brennan to grab their sides first. This would be Brennans 27th goal of the season, an incredible return! New oak continued to press and went close with a free from Cormac Lowry. Keelan Brennan broke through a resilient Hanover defence but saw his shot hit the side net after rounding the keeper. With 10 mins remaining, a strong run down the left wing by Jamie McCormick saw him cross to the edge of the area where Ruiairi Delaney connected first time to send his shot low to the bottom right corner, much to the delight of the many on watching New Oak supporters!

Delight for New Oak on the final whistle, sealing the title on the the 18th game of a closely contested division and just reward for a brilliant team effort on the night!

Parkville United AFC v Burrin Celtic AFC
Burrin Celtic Do the Double
U14 Cup 02/05 16:00
Parkville United AFC 0 - 12 Burrin Celtic AFC

Burrin Celtic completed the U14 league and cup double by beating Parkville United in the cup final. Celtic were favourites going into the fixture after winning the Div 1 league but Parkville were deserved finalists after a terrific cup run.

Burrin quickly went into the lead with Edward O’Byrne scoring after some good play by Charlie Clarke. Matthew Drought then put Celtic two goals ahead with a fine long range effort. Parkville didn’t let their heads drop though and came back into the game. However Burrin were just too strong and three more goals from Edward O’Byrne and another from Evan Kelliher left the score 6-0 to the Division 1 league champions at half time.

Both sides made changes in the second half and the game continued to play out the same as the first half with Burrin creating chances. Six more goals came through Aaron Kelly, James Bergin, Kyle Connolly, Kyle Maloney, Edward O’Byrne and Evan Kelliher, to leave the score 12-0 to Burrin Celtic.

The Parkville players responded to the crowd cheering them on and kept fighting for every ball right up to the final whistle. Burrin Celtic completed a memorable year and added the cup to their league trophy.

Noah Cullen was awarded man of the match but it could’ve been anyone from 6 or 7 Celtic players with Charlie Clarke, Edward O’Byrne and Matthew Drought particularly impressing.

Burrin Celtic 2-3 Ballymurphy Celtic (AET)
U12 cup 30/04 12:00
Burrin Celtic AFC 0 - 0 Ballymurphy Celtic White
Burrin Celtic and Ballymurphy Celtic entertained their supporters with eighty minutes of football in this U12 cup final. Burrin started brightly, putting Bobby Finn through on goal in the early minutes. However, Ballymurphy keeper and man of the match, Jack Ivers, narrowed to angle to deny Burrin an early lead. Ballymurphy settled into the game and came close to taking the lead themselves when a headed ball from a corner kick rebounded off the Burrin crossbar. Ballymurphy had their best spell early in the second half but couldn’t find a way through as Burrin’s defenders stayed organised and composed. Burrin were on the front foot as the half progressed but likewise Ballymurphy’s defence was strong and compact giving up few shooting opportunities. As players tired, Burrin came close to breaking the deadlock late in extra time but the final whistle came too soon and the game finished 0-0. The game was decided on penalties and Ballymurphy came out on top with a 3-2 win. Full credit to all players for their part in a most entertaining and enjoyable final.

Hanover Harps AFC v New Oak Boys AFC
u15 cup 25/04 18:45
Hanover Harps AFC 1 - 0 New Oak Boys AFC

Hanover qualified for a cup final date with St Anne's by virtue of a hard fought win in an exciting semi final with New Oak Boys in The Plots on Monday evening. The home team started the better and spent the early stages in New Oak's half without really testing the keeper. That changed when Aaron Cunningham Burke picked up a ball and beat two defenders before drilling a shot into the bottom corner to put Hanover ahead.

The away team were given a major boost when Hanover were reduced to ten men soon afterwards. This gave New Oak an opportunity to launch some attacks and Ewan Breen made an excellent save to keep the score 1-0 at the break.

The second half was more even with Hanover off target with most of their attempts while Breen again was equal to anything the away team asked of him with one save in the last few minutes being crucial.

The numerical advantage saw Hanover defending for their lives at times but the final whistle saw them over the line and into the final. In a committed team performance, special mention to Dara Nolan, Jack Woods, Jason Dillon and the outstanding Cody Molloy.

A strong overall performance from a good New Oak team.

U12 cup 25/04 19:00

A brilliant performance from the Bally boys and girls, who overcame their great but friendly rivalry with town side Hanover Harps.

Bally now have gone the entire season with a 100% winning record at home, proving that Ballymurphy at home is becoming areal fortress for away teams who rarely leave with points and are guaranteed a battle from the 1st whistle.

Bally started on fire and were two up inside 10 mins through the excellent Charlie Foley. A James Flood free kick on 18 mins which could only be parried by the Harps keeper with Shane Jordan on hand to sweep home the rebound 3-0 .

Hanover thought they had pulled a goal back in 21 mins but the ball was pushed into the side netting by Jack Ivers in the bally goal.

Ballymurphy continued their relentless form before the break adding four and five on 25 and 29 mins through Cian Moylan and James Flood.

HT 5-0

With the game in the bag for Bally the second half petered out and was a drab affair with Hanover shading the exchanges and were unlucky not to pull one of two goals back but for excellent defence work from James Dalton and Dylan King in particular.

Bally put the icing on the cake on 54 mins when tje excellent James Flood floated in a Cross for Shane Jordan to plant a bullet header passed the Hanover keeper.

Hanover never stopped trying and were a credit to their dedicated management team with all players giving a good display. Their best players were Shay O Grady, Conor Wall, Cian Howard and Senan Sheehan.

For Bally Shane Jordan, James Flood and Charlie Foley excelled.

Vale Wanderers AFC v Ballymurphy Celtic
Ballymurphy dominant
u12 league 19/04 18:45
Vale Wanderers AFC 0 - 5 Ballymurphy Celtic

A determined Ballymurphy Celtic arrived at the Superbowl tonight with one thing in mind - beating Vale and stayjng in the hunt for the title.

What was happening at The Plots, where anything other than a Hanover win would see New Oak crowned U12 Champions, was out of Bally's control.

But they were very much in control versus Vale.

The opening 10 minutes was even enough with both sides playing some good football, but the desire in Bally started to show and Vale seemed a bit 'leggy'.

Bally struck their first on 13 mins from Shane Jordan.

5 mins later and Joe Walsh had doubled their lead.

And so it remained til Half-time with Vale looking a bit flat and not getting into their passing rhythm.

The second half looked a bit brighter for the home side and they pushed forward, winning a couple of corners. But 12 mins into the second half James Flood and Charlie Foley had doubled the Bally lead to 0-4 and Cian Moylan wrapped things up on 56 mins to make it 0-5.

A disappointing finale to the league season for Vale who now look forward to a Cup Quarter Final on Thursday night vs Hanover.

Best on the night for Vale were Joshua Walsh, Brendan Byrne & Ódhran Noctor who all kept their heads up and gave all they had.

Impressive for Bally were Jack Ivers, Dylan King & James Dalton.

U12 cup 16/04 13:00
Hanover Harps AFC 3 - 1 St Anne's AFC

Hamover welcomed St. Anne's to The Plots today and were nearly caught cold in the first minute with a close effort. They settled down after this and all of the early chances but couldn't find the net. The home side passed the ball around well but couldn't find the all important goal. Shay O Grady, Abdrian Robu, Nathaniel Jakubiec all squandering good choices. Diarmuid Redmond saw a header hit the bar from a Robu cross but the sides were level at half time.

The second half was much the same with the home team taking hold of the ball and on 35 minutes broke the deadlock with a fine finish by Mael O Rock. They were soon 2 up through Shay O Grady and Andrian Robu made it 3.

The visitors grabbed a consolation from a free kick in the dying minutes and it finished 3-1 to Hanover who progress to the quarter finals.

Best for Hanover:
