A frosty morning saw Bagenalstown AFC welcome St Patrick's Boys AFC to the McGrath park. Both teams played exceptional soccer in the first half. ST Patrick's had opportunities in the first half from a stream of corners but Kyle Lyons, Sean Dillion and CJ McDonnell defended well to keep st Patrick's Boys from scoring. Niall Power played well for bagenalstown in the forwards and had opportunities to try put his team in the lead but st Patrick's defence played well to keep the scoreline at half time Bagenalstown 0 St Patrick's Boys AFC 0. The second half was nail bitting to watch. Both teams attacked and defended exceptionally. With about 10 mins to go Bagenalstown AFC got the break they fought so hard for and Jake Mcassey put the ball in the back of the net putting his team in the lead. ST Patrick's fought back hard and had opportunities from corners to try pull both teams level but David Reddy and Sean Dillon defended these corners well keeping st Patrick's at bay. After a very interesting match the scoreline at full time Bagenalston AFC 1 St Patrick's Boys AFC 0.

A wet and windy afternoon saw Bagenalstown AFC welcome Slaney Rovers to the McGrath Park. Bagenalstown started of well scoring their first goal in a matter of minutes. This was short lived as Slaney Rovers answered back shortly after putting the teams level.. Bagenalstown battled back with Niall Power, Paul Carroll and Jake Mcassey playing well and pushing the Slaney defence despite their efforts Slaney prevented them from scoring. Slaney Rovers then went 2-0 up with a well taken corner and followed up with another goal shortly after. Score at half time Bagenalstown 1 Slaney Rovers 3. Both teams started of well in the second half and battled hard Bagenalstown second goal was scored by TJ Geoghegan Ahmed. Slaney Rovers fought back and extended their lead once again by two goals. CJ McDonnell had a great game for Bagenalstown in left back and defended well. Despite BagenalstownS efforts Slaney Rovers scored another 3 goals. End result Bagenalstown 2 Slaney Rovers 7. On a sunny morning in McGrath Park the Town team took the lead early from a good Alan Wall goal , soon after John Lillis finished a great shot to the net to put the town 2-0 up on the 20 minute mark & just before half time a great ball through from a John Lillis found Adam Walsh to finished to the bottom corner of the net . Half time Bagenalstown AFC 3

On the start of the second half the Town got their 4th & Adam Walsh got his 2nd goal after another great move in midfield. Crettyard struck one back & the The bagenalstown side took control again with Adam Walsh hitting 2 more & Alan Wall with a great header . Again Crettyard put a good move together to get their second goal & then a penalty for Bagenalstown that was finished well from Luke Mcgrath & this finished the game 8-2 in favor of bagenalstown. This was a great game by both sides.

Best for Bagenalstown was John Lillis & Alan Wall in Midfield & The lively Adam Walsh up top . While Elliot Rice was superb in the Crettyard goal & all the rest tried hard .

Slaney opened the scoring on 12 minutes following a shot by Jack Corcoran which was parried by the visiting keeper and ball fell kindly into the path of Sean Barrett who made no mistake from six yards for 1-0. Bagenalstown responded with a well taken equaliser from Mike Fenlon on 18 minutes. After exerting a period of sustained pressure a super strike from Callum Brennan put Slaney 2-1 on the stroke of halftime. After the break both sides had chances to add to the score line but defences held firm. Bagenalstown were well served by Jake Mc Assey and Niall Power while Sean Kelly, Jack Lyons and Conor Forde stood out for Slaney.

A very windy day in Crettyard as Bagnalstown started the strongest but Crettyard were solid the back. Bagnalstown broke fast and whipped in a great crossfor Adam Walsh to make it 1 nil. Cretty had 2 great chances to score but could not put it in the net. In the second half Bagnalstown passed the ball very well and Walsh scored again and James Cushen scored a third. Crettyard had some good chances but could not put them away on the day. Best for Bagnalstown was John Lillis Frank Cushen and Adam Walsh alsh. Best for Crettyard was Kyle O Riley Fionn o Sullivan and Daniel Dunne.

St Patrick Boys got the better of Bagenalstown during this U16 league match in The Meadows. Bagenalstown started the game well testing the St Patrick Boys Keeper Jake Doyle who made some excellent saves to keep the game scoreless. The Pats lads responded well and created some chances for Joshua Egan, Dean Kelly & Paulius Venys unlucky not to score. St Patrick Boys got off the mark with a well taken goal from Clinton Ogbuka, following some excellent build up play by Enoch Olanase, Ronan Doyle and John Coyne. Left the score 1-0 at half time.

A goal-less second half was very even with chances for both teams but with both defences on top, Left the score 1:0 at fulltime.

All players from both teams played well, with Jake Doyle, Enoch Olanase, Luke Broderick and Alan Leeder impressing for St Patrick Boys.

Best for Bagenalstown Ryan Jeffers, Paul Fitzpatrick and Thomas Geoghan.

A blustery morning saw Bagenalstown AFC host Crettyard United AFC to the McGrath park. Both teams started of well and battled hard. Bagenalstown AFC were first to score with the ball initially bouncing back of the post, the Crettyard defenders fought hard to get the ball out of their back line but Dean O'Sullivan got a strike on the ball sending it past Crettyards keeper. Crettyard fought back hard and had chances at goal from corners, Bagenalstown defended well to keep them at bay. Bagenalstowns Paul Carroll got a break and took on Crettyards goalkeeper and put the ball in the back of the net leaving the scoreline at half time Bagenalstown AFC 2 Crettyard United AFC 0. The second half was nail bitting to watch, Bagenalstown AFC had a stream of chances to try further their lead but Crettyards defended and good goalkeeping kept their opportunities at bay. With about 20mins to go Crettyards Cian O'Sullivan took a cracker of a shot and sent the ball flying into the right corner of Bagenalstowns goal. Bagenalstown battled hard once again to try further their scoreline but once again Crettyards defense kept them at bay. With about six minutes to go there was a scramble in the bagenalstown box with a good save from the keeper but Crettyard got the ball back into the danger zone to see Kallem Buggy score their second goal. Bagenalstown started very well creating 4 great chances but failed to take any of them & after 25mins against the run of play Fiaccs scored to put them 1-0 up .

Half time was 1-0 to the away team . Bagenalstown made 5 changes early in the second half & when pushing on to try get level The conceded 2 more goals to a good Fiaccs team within 3 mins of each other . This game was very entertaining in very windy conditions in McGrath park .

It was an overall good team performance from St Fiaccs & best for Bagenalstown were Paddy o Neill, Adam Walsh & John o Riordan.

Hanover welcomed Bagenalstown to The Plots, the game started well with both teams having equal amounts of opportunity. Half way threw the first half Hanover opened up the scoring when TJ Brennan crossed the ball off his left foot to find Arda Destire waiting in the box and he made no mistake in putting it in the back of the net. Bagenalstown put on loads of pressure on Hanover defense but were unfortunate not to get a score in the first half.

Second half started with Hanover putting on the pressure in which Gael O Rock got a through ball from TJ Brennan and put it the bottom corner to make the score 2-0, shortly after Gael O Rock again took the ball nicely on his right foot and placed it in the top corner. Hanover seem to be getting on top when Bagenalstown no 8 Niall Power got a one on one with Hanover keeper Conor Mc Daid who pulled off a fantastic save to keep the score 3-0. Five minutes from the end Hanover got a free from the half way line and John Corcoran stepped up to the plate and left the ball on the top left corner to make Hanover 4. Bagenalstown never let up but could not find the back of the Hanover net in which saw the game finish Hanover 4 Bagenalstown 0

With both Towns in good recent form, this was always going to be

a fairly even contest.

Baltinglass dominated the early proceedings, and home defender Liam McDonnell was

forced to clear off the line.

Then, after 10 minutes, Baltinglass again threatened, with Tom Parker hitting the

post with a fine strike.

Bagenalstown steadily improved as the half went on, and took the lead on the stroke

of half time.

Paul Fitzpatrick found James Lillis on the edge of the area, and he turned and found

the net with a fierce low strike.

The second half started, as the first had ended, with a goal from James Lillis.

Baltinglass failed to clear at the back in the first minute, and were duly punished.

The second half in general was high on effort, but low on quality and the home

side took the points with a fine team performance.

Baltinglass saw excellent displays from Adam Kavanagh, Evin Fleming, Tom Parker and Rob McHugh.

Outstanding for Bagenalstown were Liam McDonnell, Paul Fitzpatrick, Cian Kent and Thomas Geoghegan.

On a very windy morning in the Mcgrath park this game had everything. The away team went one up after 15mins as both teams were trying to get on top of the windy conditions. Then the town got level through James Cushen but Anne’s went back down against the wind & went 2-1 through Ennae byrne. Again Bagenalstown got back on top & scored 2 great goals just before half time through Kieran Curran & James Cushen.

Half time Bagenalstown were 3-2 up.

In the second half against a really Big wind Bagenalstown stood really strong against a really good Anne’s team but with time running out a quick free kick got Anne’s back level , after a mix up as Bagenalstown players were waiting for the whistle but it never came & the goal stood & soon after Anne’s struck from another free kick which after a rebound it ended up in the town net to get the winner for Anne’s in a really top class game by two very sporting teams.

Goals for Anne’s were Ennae Byrne 2, Eoin Mullhall 1 & Seamus Lynch 1 while playing well were Robbie Murphy, Seamus Lynch & Calum McElroy.

Goals for Bagenalstown were James Cushen 2 & Kieran Curran 1 & best for town were Daniel Whelan, Paddy o Neill & the outstanding Adam Walsh .

The blustery conditions made life difficult for both teams, but each

tried to play an attractive brand of football.

After a stalemate first half, the game burst into life on 55 minutes.

A diagonal ball from the Vale midfield found Sam Murphy, who

controlled well, and found the net from 20 yards with a fine strike.

Town were quick in response, and an inswinging corner from Adam Walsh

was met by Sean Wall to head home the equaliser.

With the game finely balanced, James Lillis curled in the winner from

the edge of the area with a lovely strike on 70 minutes.

The Vale Wanderers side gave a solid team display, with Jason Haughney, Tom Maher

and Cian Hickey particularly effective.

The Bagenalstown side also played very well, with Aidan Dowling, Ryan Jeffers, Cian Kent and Sean Wall to the fore.

Burrin Celtic came out victors against Bagenalstown in a close fought match in very windy conditions. Both teams had chances in the first half only to be denied by some very good goalkeeping. Celtic took the lead though with a free kick by Matthew Drought that crashed off the underside of the bar before hitting the net and gave Celtic a 1-0 lead going into half time.

The second half again saw some excellent goalkeeping as both teams looked to score. Bagenalstown had a succession of corners and Celtic hit the post but neither side could get past the keepers, with Burrin Celtic coming out on top 1-0 at the final whistle.

Best for Celtic were Matthew Drought, Aaron Kelly and Luke Ruddock. Best for Bagenalstown were Sean Darcy, Sean Dillon and Jake McAssey.

Points shared was the order of the day in a ding dong derby in the Superbowl , a header from the excellent Bartek Gniedziejko for Vale following a great build up on 10 mins cancelled out by a fine individual goal from Niall Power on 25 mins leaving half time 1-1 , a fair reflection of the half. Chances a plenty in the 2nd half for both sides saw both going close to a winner with a brilliant Mikey Fenelon save for the away team 5 mins from time ensuring honours even at full time . Outstanding for Vale were goalscorer Bartek , Conor Twomey , Odhran Murphy and Finnan Nolan while Bagenalstown had Mikey Fenelon, Sean Dillon and Niall Power in great form

Under 13 Division 1- Hanover took the three points when they edged Bagenalstown after a tight, and good quality game in The Plots on Saturday morning.The home team started well and on two separate occasions good balls went across the six yard box with no Hanover player there to finish Bagenalstown began to get a foothold in the game and forced a series of corners which were defended well by Hanover.Approaching half time and looking like the game would break scoreless,the home team took the lead.A great through ball from Sam McHugh found Lee Doran who's shot beat the keeper and arriving at the back post to apply the finish was Sean Hayden.Half time 1-0.Bagenalstown started the second half stronger but again found it difficult to breach the home defence who were well marshalled by Cody Molloy.The Hanover front men were lively and on a couple of occasions broke through only to be denied by recovering tackles.The teams cancelled each other out in midfield and no real clear cut chances were created before the final whistle which saw Hanover take the win after a close and entertaining battle.Playing well for Bagenalstown were,Alan Wall,Paddy ONeill,John Lillis and James Brennan while for Hanover,Cody Molloy, Bailee Cooney,Jason Dillon and Dermot Lawlor stood out.

Honours were shared in this entertaining game of football.

Both sides played some nice football, and the visitors took the lead on 10 mins.

A cross from the left by Kevin Kavanagh was met by Ronan Lawlor to power a fine header to the net.

Bagenalstown were stirred into action and both Sean Kelly and Adam Walsh came close with left-footed strikes.

The home side regained parity on 35 minutes, when a super strike by James Lillis flew in off the underside of the crossbar.

Town were in the ascendancy in the second half, and went close with a header from Sean Wall.

Milltown were always dangerous, and Liam McDonnell cleared off the line on 70 minutes.

Best for Milltown were Kyle Foley and Declan Nolan.

Bagnealstown had fine performances from Wilson Gao, Ryan Jeffers and Liam McDonnell.

Despite the inclement weather, Town started brightly and got off to the perfect start.

From a corner by Aidan Dowling after 3 minutes, the ball was headed down by Adam Walsh and

Eoghan Doyle found the back of the net.

Sean Kelly was fouled in the area on 15 minutes, and Aidan Dowling scored low into the corner

from the penalty spot.

Eoghan Doyle then got his second, with a headed goal just before the half-time break.

Thomas Geoghegan saved well from a well-struck Vale free kick on 50 minutes.

Aidan Dowling scored his second with a right-footed strike on 65 minutes, following

some good build-up play.

This was a fine all-round team performance from Bagenalstown.

Vale were well served with fine displays from Jason Haughney, Naoise Brennan and Tom Maher.
