It was a bad day at the office for Hanover, the game started well with both teams having an even amount of time on the ball. Bagenalstown seemed to edge that little bit further and were rewarded a goal when their no 9 TJ Ahmed slotted home a bottom corner from a mix up in the Hanover box. Straight from tip off Hanover's Gael O Rock took a shot and it just skimped the post. The second goal came when TJ Ahmed got his head on a corner ball and put it in the back of the net, half time whistle blew.

Hanover 0 - Bagenalstown 2

Second half started much the same as the first which saw good soccer being played by both sides, alot of pressure on the ball made the game interesting and both sides should be proud of the way they played. Hanover thought they had a goal when Sean Hayden lobbed the keeper but the ball bounced and went over the bar. Full time whistle blew.

Hanover 0 - Bagenalstown 2

Best of Hanover were Conor McDaid, Leon Fitzgerald and Callum Martin.

Good performance in the 1st half from Bagnelstown, not so much from St.Pats. Bagnelstown had plenty of chances in the half just missing the goals. It ended 0-0 in the 1st half. 2nd half starts and soon after Bagnelstown manages to get a goal. After the 1st goal, both sides were much better and the intensity of the game increased drastically. St.Pats managed to score another 3 goals but all were deem offside. As the ref blew the whistle for full time the match ended 3-2 to Bagnelstown.

Ian Craddock got on the score sheet 4 times for Bagenalstown with Jason Dillon and Adrian adding one each for the visitors.

Ciarán Nolan, Alan Fitzgerald and Ryan O"Shea put in a good shift for the home side.

First league game of the season St Pats welcomed Bagnelstown to the Meadows. St Pats started the game at a high tempo but the Bagnelstown team defended very well and created 2 very good chances to take the lead. St. Pats then started to take control in midfield with Zak Hernan pushing forward and delivering some great thru balls to Warrith and Mark Buggy. Pats were now in full control with some great play down the left from Kacepr & David Mcdonald had Bagnelstown under a lot of pressure. The 1st goal came from a David Mcdonald cross which somehow found its way into the Bagnelstown goal to make it 1-0 to Pats. After the goal Pats seemed to relax and started passing the ball around really well. It wasn't long before Kacepr got his 1st goal to make it 2-0. Some great defending from Eoghan Kavanagh kept Bagnelstown at bay and they just couldn't find a way past the Pats defence. Kacepr added 2 more goals to get his well deserved hatrick to make it 4-0 at half time and it looked like Pats would seal the win.

The second half was a different affair tough and Bagnelstown and a spring in their step. Some brilliant defending from David Reddy in the Bagnelestown defence pushed Bagnelstown forward and they got their rewards when Luke Dooley took down a Bagnelstown player to award a penalty which they slotted home to make it 4-1. It was now all Bagnelstown and the Pats defence were under a lot of pressure. Ruairi Mcevoy and Jack Mcnamara had a very good game in the heart of the Pats defence but Bagnelstown kept pushing forward and soon got their second goal to make it 4-2. Game on now and it looked like Bagnelstown might get something from the game but Pats held out to seal the win. A very good game between two even sides but Pats narrowly deserved their win with the 1st half performance. All players from both teams played really well. Stand out players for Bagnelstown were David Reddy & James Brennan. For Pats, Kacepr, Eoghan Kavanagh, Zak Hernan & Warrith.
