Bagenalstown welcomed st Joseph's to the mgrath park today .the game was evenly contested in the first half with both James brennan and Danny travers making great runs and troubling the away side. Joey's created afew chances of there own with Walter Webb getting in behind only to be found offside. Bagenalstown came close to breaking the deadlock when Sean Darcy found himself unmarked just inside the box but couldn't keep his shot down half time 0-0. Bagenalstown started the second half much stronger and enjoyed plenty of possession early on after several half chances aodhan hickey managed to find the net after great work from tj Ahmed. Joey's faught back and pressed Forward but bagenalstowns defence were hard to break down. Tj Ahmed was a real problem for the visitors he looked dangerous every time he got the ball and it was he who added bagenalstowns second. Joey's came back into it after that and started causing bagenalstown a few problems. John Lillis got free down the right and hit 1 from 40 yards only to be denied by the crossbar. Joey's eventually got rewarded for all there hard work when they scored a cracker from outside the box. Bagenalstown held on for a deserved victory. Joey's worked very hard and showed great spirit
more.. 28/01/2023 20:00A late start today for the Hanover v Bagenalstown game. Both teams started strong with shots but nothing on target. Half time score 0-0.
With 15 minutes gone in the second half Hanovers Brian Louw hit the back of the net from a beautifully taken corner by Charlie McHugh. One minute later with another perfect pass from Charlie, Timmy Adeleye scored a cracker of a goal.
Bagenalstown not sitting back replied with 2 goals from Alex Doyle.
Final score 2-2.
Best for Hanover Harps were Charlie McHugh, Timmy Adeleye & Brian Louw.
Best for Bagenalstown were David Roche, Finnann Nolan & Jake Lennon.

went ahead with 2 goals before half time scored by Luis Chicot
and Ian Craddock .
After half time killeshin came out fighting but it just wasn't enough
Bagenastown got another 3 goals , a hat trick for there
number 10 Luis and a brace for Ian .

more.. 21/01/2023 15:33It was a bad day at the office for Hanover, the game started well with both teams having an even amount of time on the ball. Bagenalstown seemed to edge that little bit further and were rewarded a goal when their no 9 TJ Ahmed slotted home a bottom corner from a mix up in the Hanover box. Straight from tip off Hanover's Gael O Rock took a shot and it just skimped the post. The second goal came when TJ Ahmed got his head on a corner ball and put it in the back of the net, half time whistle blew.

Second half started much the same as the first which saw good soccer being played by both sides, alot of pressure on the ball made the game interesting and both sides should be proud of the way they played. Hanover thought they had a goal when Sean Hayden lobbed the keeper but the ball bounced and went over the bar. Full time whistle blew.

Blustery morning in Hawkins Lane was the venue for this first league meeting between these two teams in a long time. The home side were the first off the mark when Adam Cleary got in the end of a Markus Ragelis cross after 20 mins. The visitors had plenty of chances to draw level but the Parkville defence held firm.
Second half saw Bagenalstown rattle the upright from 25 yards out after 15 mins. Both teams continued to trade attacks with Bagenalstown getting the equaliser with 10 mins to go with a header from a great cross from the wing.
Game finished 1-1, with both teams feeling robbed of the victory.
Best for Parkville were Markus Ragelis, Dean Keogh and Kristers Laudupa.

more.. 26/11/2022 16:46Good performance in the 1st half from Bagnelstown, not so much from St.Pats. Bagnelstown had plenty of chances in the half just missing the goals. It ended 0-0 in the 1st half. 2nd half starts and soon after Bagnelstown manages to get a goal. After the 1st goal, both sides were much better and the intensity of the game increased drastically. St.Pats managed to score another 3 goals but all were deem offside. As the ref blew the whistle for full time the match ended 3-2 to Bagnelstown.

Bagenalstown welcomed Cashel to the magrath park at lunch time today in what turned out to be a highly entertaining game. The home team squandered some early chances and were punished when Cashel took the lead from a great long range effort. The away side doubled their lead before half time and went in at the break 2 nil up. The home team really got on top in the second half and got back in it when eoin monaghan went on a strong run up the right wing and put in a great ball to Ben Kelly who finished very coolly to the bottom corner. The home side kept pushing and creating chances and finally equalised when Alex Doyle curled a brilliant free kick into the top corner. Extra time was required but neither team found a breakthrough so the match went to penalties, Alfie Black pulled off some great saves and bagenalstown won 3 -2 in the shootout.
Finnain Nolan put in an excellent captains performance in what was a great all round team effort that led to the comeback win for Bagenalstown.

Bagnelstown started off brightly creating a few opportunities but Celtic settled down &
Controlled the first half scorimg twice through Freddie Gibson. The second half was a different encounter with the scoreline at 2-1 and Bagnelstown with the wind behind them created numorous chances before being awarded a penalty to make it 2-2. Against the run of play Celtic regained rhe lead when Edward o Byrne slotted the ball home. It was Bagnelstown who had the final say when they made it all square on the whistle with a fine strike from the edge of the box.

Bagnelstown started the game on the front foot and we’re 1-0 up after 4 minutes catching Burrin’s defence too high and put their striker through on goal. Burrin quickly equalised when Callum Butler collected the ball wide and set up Zack Bolger to make it 1-1. Shortly after Burrin went 2-1 up through Callum Butler. Bobby Finn got his first U14 goal of the season with a cracker of a header to put the home team in the lead before half time. Bagnelstown dominated a lot of the possession in the second half and went close a few times. Burrin struggled to break down the away teams defence in the second half. Alex Doyle scored a brilliant free kick with minutes to go, to make it a well deserved point for both sides.
Best for Burrin were Zack Bolger, Callum Butler and Colm Donald.

Bagenalstown were too strong for Vale on the day and 3 goals either side of the break were enough to give Bagenalstown a deserved win on a wet morning in the Superbowl. Ian Craddock got on the score sheet 4 times for Bagenalstown with Jason Dillon and Adrian adding one each for the visitors.
Ciarán Nolan, Alan Fitzgerald and Ryan O"Shea put in a good shift for the home side.

Bagenalstown AFC welcomed Crettyatlrd United AFC to the McGrath Park this morning. The game started of well for crettyard who scored early in the game from a corner that was put in the back of the net by Seamus Lynch. Both teams battled hard either crettyards second goal coming from a fee kick. Bagenalstowns Jason Salter played a ball into James Brennan who scored the first goal of the match for Bagenalstown AFC. Score at half time Bagenalstown AFC 1 Crettyard 2. Bagenalstown AFC started of the second half with more dominance.. From a corner James brennan scored the second goal for his team. Bagenalstown AFCs keeper saved a shot from Seamus Lynch but crettyard didn't miss out on the rebound a fellow team mate volleyed the ball into the back of the net.. Bagenalstowns 3rd goal came from a pass by Alwx Doyle into John Lillis who put the ball in the net to equalise the game.. final score Bagenalstown AFC 3 Crettyard United AFC 3

U16 SFAI Cup the game started a.bit scrappy but soon picked with pats keeper making a good save from Alan Walsh pats got a break when they were awarded a penalty which they scored the second half was much better game with both sides going then pat's scored on the break but Town came roaring back with two quick fire goals first from Alan Wall and the second from Adam Walsh it looked like extra time but pats got the winner with minutes left best for Town Jack Kehoe Alan Wall Filip Kaczmarkiewicz

Bagenalstown and Hannover played out a very entertaining game at the mcgrath Park this morning. Both teams started well and it was the home team that got the first breakthrough. From a free kick out on the wing jack monaghan delivered a fantastic cross and Dylan Kearney volleyed home a great finish. Hannover responded well and got there equaliser when axel orock headed home from a corner, the home side narrowly missed with a couple of good efforts and the sides went in at half time level. Into the second half and the away side capitalised on some indecision in the Bagenalstown defence and Brian louw fired a shot in to the bottom corner. The home side kept battling and were rewarded when Ben Kelly slipped the ball through to Dylan Kearney who finished brilliantly for his second of the game, both teams pushed hard but neither could find a winner and the game finished 2-2. Best for Bagenalstown were David Roche, Jack monaghan and Dylan Kearney, best for Hannover were gavin mcdermot, Alex evesson and Brian louw

First league game of the season St Pats welcomed Bagnelstown to the Meadows. St Pats started the game at a high tempo but the Bagnelstown team defended very well and created 2 very good chances to take the lead. St. Pats then started to take control in midfield with Zak Hernan pushing forward and delivering some great thru balls to Warrith and Mark Buggy. Pats were now in full control with some great play down the left from Kacepr & David Mcdonald had Bagnelstown under a lot of pressure. The 1st goal came from a David Mcdonald cross which somehow found its way into the Bagnelstown goal to make it 1-0 to Pats. After the goal Pats seemed to relax and started passing the ball around really well. It wasn't long before Kacepr got his 1st goal to make it 2-0. Some great defending from Eoghan Kavanagh kept Bagnelstown at bay and they just couldn't find a way past the Pats defence. Kacepr added 2 more goals to get his well deserved hatrick to make it 4-0 at half time and it looked like Pats would seal the win.
The second half was a different affair tough and Bagnelstown and a spring in their step. Some brilliant defending from David Reddy in the Bagnelestown defence pushed Bagnelstown forward and they got their rewards when Luke Dooley took down a Bagnelstown player to award a penalty which they slotted home to make it 4-1. It was now all Bagnelstown and the Pats defence were under a lot of pressure. Ruairi Mcevoy and Jack Mcnamara had a very good game in the heart of the Pats defence but Bagnelstown kept pushing forward and soon got their second goal to make it 4-2. Game on now and it looked like Bagnelstown might get something from the game but Pats held out to seal the win. A very good game between two even sides but Pats narrowly deserved their win with the 1st half performance. All players from both teams played really well. Stand out players for Bagnelstown were David Reddy & James Brennan. For Pats, Kacepr, Eoghan Kavanagh, Zak Hernan & Warrith.

Cretty started the stronger of the two teams and dominated the first period creating numerous chances best of which fell to aaron Brennan who hit the post when one on one with the keeper and also Michael Brenna who dragged a side just wide of the post. It was nil all at half time and bagnelstown came out the stronger in the second half and went one ahead with 15 mins gone in second half. Cretty pushed for an equaliser late on and got caught right at the death when bagnelstown broke to seal the victory best for cretty were Aaron Brennan fionnan breannan and Michael Brennan

SFAI U16 cup Bagenalstown 2-0 Freebooters The game started at a hectic pace with chances at both ends John O’Riordan breaking through and the keeper making a good save, then Kyle Clarke made a great double block to deny Booters a goal. Town forced a corner and from resulting corner Alan Wall forced home the ball to put town ahead, few minutes later Adam Walsh put a great ball in for Ian Craddock to out muscle the Booters centre half and fire home. Booters came more into the game in the second half but town held firm to run out winners best for town Jason Dillon, Alan Wall, Adam Walsh, Luke McGrath.
