In a game largely dominated by Burrin Celtic, Crettyard scored after 10 minutes after their midfield picked up the ball from a kick out and slotted it well to put the visitors 1 up. Burrin had a number of chances after this and pressed the away side well but nothing came of it In the first half. Burrin came out fighting in the second half. Ryan Abbey equalised 7 minutes into the second half with a well taken header. Burrin kept the dominance up when Tadhg Campbell scored to make it 2-1. Both teams had chances but could not put them away. Shane McCaffrey played very well in goal for Burrin and stopped a few one on ones. Burrin were through a number of times but wasn’t their day in front of goal. Crettyard scored their equaliser through a counter attack and caught burrin napping. Final score 2-2.

Best for Burrin were Colm Donald, Tadhg Campbell and Bill Roberts.

Hanover Harps AFC 1 - 1 Crettyard United AFC

Hanover Harps AFC welcomed Crettyard United AFC at home this afternoon in their first meet in the competition. The game started off well for both teams in a tightly contested first half. However the visitors took the lead in the game when Aaron Brennan beat the off side trap to open the scoring with a goal in last few minutes of the first half.

Hanover had a great chance to level the game very shortly after with a shot on goal by Nathaniel Jakubiec just skipping left of the post. Crettyard started off well in the second half with a few chances to extend the lead but Hanover upped their tempo and drove hard against the visitors. The home side were unlucky a couple of times not to get a score, being denied by the great skills of the Crettyard goal keeper Darragh Brennan.

In the dying stages of the match Hanover were all over the visitors and the equalizer came from a great corner kick by Andrian Robu that was unfortunately knocked into the goal by a Crettyard player.

Best for Hanover: Mael O Rock, Allen Bowe and Daire Brady

Best for Crettyard: Aaron Brennan, Darragh Brennan and Michael Brennan

Crettyard and St Anne's played out a very entertaining game in hard conditions. Crettyard started fast and darragh Curran scored after 3 minutes to give them the lead. Eoin dowling then added a 2nd and finn Kelly a 3rd before Adam Rowan got his first of the game. St Anne's didn't drop the heads and pushed really hard to score and were unlucky not to. Then crettyard broke clear with the ball and won a free kick outside the box. Adam Rowan stepped up and scored it into the top corner with a wonderful strike. He then completed his hatrick just on half time. The second have was played at a fast pace again by both teams and there was lots of chances at both ends. Noah Taylor was doing great work on the wing and got a well deserved goal before finn Kelly slotted home his second of the game. Best for crettyard were Dan Curran, Harry Eagan and Aidan Rowan in the goals. St Anne's had great players all around the pitch and never gave up.

Hanover Harps AFC 4 - 1 Crettyard United AFC

Hanover made it through to the last 32 in the SFAI National Cup after a hard fought win v Crettyard in difficult conditions in The Plots on Saturday morning. Heavy rain at kick off time made passing difficult and set pieces seemed the most likely way for either team to break the deadlock. Hanover were unlucky from a couple of corners while Crettyard drew a good save from Ewan Breen from a free kick. On the half hour the home team were awarded a free kick and Aaron Cunningham Burke curled it around the wall to put Hanover in front. Score remained 1-0 at the break.

Crettyard had the wind behind them in the second half and were pressing for an equaliser when Hanover broke and Daragh Corcoran doubled the lead with a good strike over the keeper. Five minutes later Aaron Cunningham Burke made it 3-0 with an improvised finish with his knee over the onrushing keeper. With ten minutes to go Crettyard gave themselves a life line with a well worked team goal. Bailee Cooney settled home nerves with a clever free kick under the wall in the 76th minute. A good team performance from Crettyard while for Hanover, Dermot Lawlor, Sam McHugh, Ross Moran and Leon Fitzgerald were prominent.

Cretty v tramore was a good game held in tough conditions very blustery in Crettyard tramore with the breeze in there backs took an early lead with some good play cretty had there backs to the wall for the early exchanges and tramore took advantage down the left hand side and scored there second goal cretty we’re trying hard to get back into it but again we’re caught on the break and tramore made it 3-0 with few minutes remaining cretty came back strong in the last few minutes with outstanding play from Michael brennan who broke down a good attack from tramore and played through Aaron brennan who was taking down for a penalty Fionnan brennan made no mistake from the spot blasting it into the roof of the net 3-1 at half time to tramore second half cretty came out on the front foot and controlled the game putting tramore under pressure all over the pitch and made it 3-2 when a great corner from Aaron brennan headed off the crossbar by Cian o Sullivan and rebound put to the net by darragh brennan cretty kept pushing for the equaliser but were caught on the break and tramore made it 4-2 with 5 minutes remaining but typical cretty never gave up and drove forward again for Cian o Sullivan to score a great goal from 25 yards into the top corner with seconds remaining cretty had one last chance but were denied by a good save from the tramore to deny cretty and move into the next round best for cretty Michael brennan who was man of the match outstanding Danial Lawlor and Jake keating

Crettyard played host to campile in the sfai trophy in an excellent game . Both teams went for attacking football from the start and there was lots of goal chances early on and some great defending from both teams. Campile made their pressure count after 15 minutes and opened the scoring with a great long distance shot. Crettyard kept the heads up and the attacking football going and finn Kelly made some great chances for himself , then a great ball down the centre from Dan Curran found Kelly again and he scored a great goal

to have the game level at half time. The second half started like the first and Both teams had great chances to take the lead only for some great defending, especially from Darragh Curran in centre back. The winning goal eventually game when Adam Rowan ran on to a long ball over the top and unleashed a left footed shot to the roof of the net. The drama wasn't over there, when with 3 minutes left campile were in on goal but Aidan Rowan made a unbelievable save to win the game for Crettyard. Campile had some excellent players all over the field and best for Crettyard were sean Knowles, Harry Gorman and Eoin Dowling.

Baltinglass had a visit from Crettyard on a cold morning in Parkmore, a lighting game with lots of goals for both sides. Crettyard opened the scoring early on but a free kick from Baltinglass’ Josh Barry was quick to level the scoring. A great battle in midfield game crettyard the lead once again but Baltinglass’ Jayden Musinguzi was on form upfront scoring two goals within 5 minutes. Baltinglass couldn’t clear a Crettyard corner leading to yet another equaliser and at the half both teams were on 3 goals each. The second half was a great battle across the pitch, both teams having chances that just wouldn’t fall for them. Crettyard were awarded a penalty late on but failed to take the chance. A dangerous cross from crettyard down the left fell to a late run that came them the winner in the last two minutes of play. This gave them the winner as the game ended. Baltinglass 3 to Crettyard 4.

Best for Baltinglass were Garreth Doyle, Josh Furlong and Noah Farrell

St Joseph’s AFC welcomed Crettyard AFC at McCardles cross this morning. The game began with great play from both teams and it took till the 30th minute for James Keating to find the back of Joeys net after a drop ball was awarded to Crettyard. The score remained 1-0 at half time. The second half began with great pressure from both sides, 10 mins in Mikey Byrne from St Joseph’s was awarded a penalty which resulted in a goal from Walter Webb making it 1-1. The match continued with great football, Crettyard scored their second goal from a super free kick taken by Seamus Lynch into the top corner of Joeys net. St Joseph’s continued to pile on the pressure but the Crettyard defence were a match for them. Final score 2-1

Despite the loss St Joseph’s squad was strengthened by the return of some injured players.

Best for Crettyard were Fionan Brennan, Bobby Rohan and Daniel Lawlor.

Best for St Joseph’s were Zac Nolan, Jamie Doyle, Cathal Purcell and Walter Webb.

Hanover welcomed Crettyard to The Plots for a 10am kick off. The game started evenly with both teams applying the pressure, chances from TJ Brennan and Geal O Rock just passed the post. On the 18th minute Crettyard number 10 Sheamus Lynch made a great run and made no mistake in putting the ball at the back of the net. Straight from the tip off Crettyard applied all the pressure which awarded them with a goal after a mix up in the Hanover box. Hanover did get a goal in the last minute of the half when they were awarded a penalty and TJ Brennan put the ball in the net

Second half started much the same with Hanover applying all the pressure, about 5 minutes into the second half Crettyard played some great soccer and were awarded a goal when a long ball over the Hanover defence and saw Seamus Lynch on the end of it to put the ball in the net. Straight from tip off Hanover got a second wind and started playing some great soccer and were awarded with two goals from set play. Both teams fought to the end and should be proud of the way they played.

Best for Hanover were Peter Lynch, John Corcoran and Gael O Rock.

Bagenalstown AFC welcomed Crettyatlrd United AFC to the McGrath Park this morning. The game started of well for crettyard who scored early in the game from a corner that was put in the back of the net by Seamus Lynch. Both teams battled hard either crettyards second goal coming from a fee kick. Bagenalstowns Jason Salter played a ball into James Brennan who scored the first goal of the match for Bagenalstown AFC. Score at half time Bagenalstown AFC 1 Crettyard 2. Bagenalstown AFC started of the second half with more dominance.. From a corner James brennan scored the second goal for his team. Bagenalstown AFCs keeper saved a shot from Seamus Lynch but crettyard didn't miss out on the rebound a fellow team mate volleyed the ball into the back of the net.. Bagenalstowns 3rd goal came from a pass by Alwx Doyle into John Lillis who put the ball in the net to equalise the game.. final score Bagenalstown AFC 3 Crettyard United AFC 3

First goal came from Crettyard at just 2 mins in... First goal for fiaccs came from a penalty from Tommy Keating at 17 mins ... next goal for fiaccs came from Jamie French at 23 mins making it 2-1 ta fiaccs.. Crettyard got into full swing withs Goals at 36, 39 ,41,48 and 57 mins... some brilliant save inbetween from Jack Scully... Best for fiaccs was Callum Farrell and best for crettyard was aaron curran who was very strong in defence.. all in all a great start to the league.

Crettyard v ballymurphy on a great morning for soccer and both teams didn’t disappoint cretty started slow and ballymurphy dominated the first half and took the lead after 10 minutes ballymurphy continued the play great soccer and should of went 2 up only an unbelievable last ditch clearance from jake keating denying a certain goal 1-0 at halftime second half cretty came out a different team and flew out of the traps with some great passing and creating chances and eventually made it 1-1 through Aaron brennan with a great solo goal and cooly slotted into the bottom corner Aaron again broke through minutes later only too be denied by a brilliant save from the ballymurphy keeper cretty kept pushing and the brilliant Adam Rowan who was unbelievable all game was unlucky not to score with only minutes remaining a great ball in behind the defence from darragh curran put Adam Rowan in on goal and he blasted the ball to the roof of the net which he deserved after a man of the match display cretty hold on to win 2-1

Crettyard start the better of the 2 sides and were far superior throughout the first half some hard work from seamus lynch chasing what looked to be a hopless ball but the cretty striker got there to get his first for cretty and crettys first on the day.Teirnan pattersons quick thinking led to his throw putting Cillian Gorman before he obliged with an exeptional finish curling it inch perfectly into the bottom left.Straight from tip and james keatings powerful shot bet the joeys keeper to make it 3-0 to the homeside.4-0 soon followed as fionann brennan reacted quickest the keepers good save.Then Cillian Gorman turned hatrick hero with 2 goals in 2 minutes adding to his earlier one.Bobby rowan was central to most things including organising the cretty midfeild.

6-0 at half time soon turned to seven as fionnan turned home a cian o sullivan corner fionnan brennan then released james keating who pulled it accross for cillian who couldnt this time finish but scott maher made no mistake 8-0 cretty.

Penalty to josephs then and the jospehs lively substitiue made no mistake tiernan pattersons corner found bobby rowan who deserved a goal and he deliverd.

Seamus lynch found the top corner to make it 10 for cretty and 2 for him.

Bobby rowan scored his second with a shot in off the bar to make it 11.

Teirnan patterson added another to make it 12.

The joeys keeper made an unbelievable save to deny scott maher his second.

An unselfish pass from bobby rowan and cillian gorman got his 4th.

Cretty started the stronger of the two teams and dominated the first period creating numerous chances best of which fell to aaron Brennan who hit the post when one on one with the keeper and also Michael Brenna who dragged a side just wide of the post. It was nil all at half time and bagnelstown came out the stronger in the second half and went one ahead with 15 mins gone in second half. Cretty pushed for an equaliser late on and got caught right at the death when bagnelstown broke to seal the victory best for cretty were Aaron Brennan fionnan breannan and Michael Brennan

Nurney villa and Crettyard Utd had a cracking game in the u12 SFAI cup match in Nurney today. Conditions were good, and both teams gave it their all. Nurney finished on top eventually on a score of 5-4, but didn’t have it easy. Both sides were very even.

Crettyard opened the scoring after Adam Rowan put away a penalty.

Nurney having been a bit slow to start came back through Finn Lawler who converted a penalty.

Lawler scored again after some sustained Nurney pressure.

Crettyard almost immediately responded with a goal from Darragh Curran.

At half time both teams were going well at 2-2.

Nurney went ahead again after a good run and finish by Ben Maher. Eoin Dowling straight away got one back for Crettyard. Nurney come again with a goal from Oliver Hughes. Dowling and Crettyard were not giving in. Dowling levelled it with a with 5 minutes to go. The game was exiting for all involved. Just as if was looking like extra time Oliver Hughes popped up again to get a late winner. In a game that no team deserved to lose both teams gave an excellent spectacle.

Best for Nurney were Donal Corcoran, Bobby Kidd, and Finn Lawler. Best for Crettyard were Sean Knowles, Adam Knowles and Eoin Dowling.

First game of the season for cretty seen them taking on a good portlaw team in the sfai Cup,both teams started brightly,, a very even contest in which cretty scored first through Niall Hickey,, after a few more chances for both teams portlaw equilised,, 2nd half saw cretty keep up the hard work all around the pitch but fell behind to a second portlaw goal,, some great team play saw Blake Rice draw cretty level,, final 10minutes Niall Hickey fired home his 2nd goal to give an outstanding cretty team performance the win,, best for cretty were Jack doyle Patrick Fox and Blake Ríce
