Hanover Harps AFC 5 - 2 Parkville United AFC Black

It was clear and calm on the Plots this morning when Hanover Harps welcomed Parkville Utd. The home side started the better and applied lots of early pressure. This front-footed approach paid dividends when Cian Howard was unleashed by great wing play from Nathaniel Jukabiec to make it 1-0. Harps doubled their lead moments later when Masfie Islam found Shay O Grady who made it 2. Midway through the half a through ball from David Dutu was latched onto by Jukabiec who made no mistake. The rest of the half was much of the same with Hanover pressing forward. Before half time, Howard was on hand from a Dutu corner to bury a half chance and made it 4-0 at the break.

For the second half Hanover rung the changes and lost their rhythm a bit. Parkville began to find a footing and started to break the home team's line and grabbed a goal from the spot with the penalty cooly slotted in by Kai Quinn. As the game progressed it became an end-to-end battle with both team's going close. Andrian Robu missing several one on one's before eventually getting the goal his efforts deserved. But the visitors weren't done and kept searching for a second goal that came when a fumble by the keeper was pounced on by Lorcan Cleary. The game finished Hanover 5-2 Parkville Utd.

Best for Hanover were: Nathaniel Jukabiec, James (J.P.) O Connor, and Cian Howard.

Best for Parkville were:

Ballymurphy Celtic 2 - 1 Hanover Harps AFC

Ballymurphy Celtic 2-1 Hanover Harps

Ballymurphy edged this tight but excellent game of football this morning under the Blackstairs.

Both teams started well and it took 15 mins for the first shot in anger when Keane Murphy just shot over from 20 yards, Ballymurphy piled on the pressure thereafter and got their reward when Dean Foleys shot was parried by the New Oak keeper and Oisin Fogarty was on hand to slide home the rebound. Bally should have made it two nil on 24 but Shane Jordans free kick was brilliantly saved again. Hanover finally got into the game and scored with their first attack just before the break when a lapse in the Bally defence saw Diarmuid Redmond set up Shay O Grady for the equaliser. HT 1-1

The second half started cagey again from both sides but it was Ballymurphy who took a foothold and bombarded the Hanover goal forcing numerous corners and free kicks before finally an Oisin Fogarty corner was turned home by James Flood with ten minutes to go. After that Ballymurphy sat back and tried to hold their lead and with two minutes to go a break from Hanover was halted on the edge of the box. From the resulting free kick Ballymurphy goal keeper made a outstanding save to give all three points to the home side..

An excellent game of football all round with two very evenly matched teams.

Best for Ballymurphy were Dean Foley, Oisin Fogarty and Dylan King.

It was an all round team performance from Harps with every player giving their all.

Hanover Harps 8 v 0 Ballymurphy Celtic

Hanover took the points this morning on a fine morning in the plots.  Hanover took the lead when Joel Abu slid Roland Sanni nicely through to finish smartly to the corner. Their lead was doubled when Roland Sanni won possession from a Ballymurphy defender and rounded the impressive Ballymurphy keeper to finish. A great passing move between Senan Ryan and Jamie Coakley provided Hanover with their third, this time Mikel with the neat finish.  A string of excellent saves by the Ballymurphy keeper and some wasteful finishing kept the score to 3 v 0 at half time.

Ballymurphy were restricted to a few attacks on the counter which the Hanover defence dealt with comfortably. Mikel got Hanover’s fourth early in the second half when latching on to a cross by Senan Ryan. A fifth came when Mikel aka Magic Mike went on one of his now trademark solo run runs before dinking over the keeper. Joel Abu scored a sixth with a powerful strike after a nice piece of skill to beat his defender. Mikel scored a 7th and 8th for Hanover, one another mazy dribble after a one two with Senan Ryan, the other a left footed half volley from the edge of the box to round off a great individual performance.

A strong performance by Hanover again depleted by other dominant sports commitments with Jomilio Salvador, Jamie Coakley and Daniel Whelan prominent.

Ballymurphy had good performers in Lachlan Smith, Jack Foley and the busy goalkeeper.
