Hanover grab all 3 points
U13 div 1 03/12 12:15
Vale Wanderers AFC 0 - 5 Hanover Harps AFC

The action in this game started quickly with Hanover being awarded a penalty in the first 5 mins for a Vale handball in the box. A well struck shot went narrowly wide of the left post and Vale were let off the hook. This was followed by a period of sustained Hanover pressure and despite some determined defending from Vale, it resulted in the opening goal of the game for Hanover after 15 mins. Despite an even enough second quarter, Hanover scored another goal just before half time.

At 2-0 it was still all to play for, but Vale struggled to cope with Hanover pressure immediately after the break and a Vale own goal from a Hanover corner and another fine Hanover strike within 2 mins of each other killed this game off as a contest.

Vale showed some fight for the next 20 mins, but the last 10 mins saw legs tire in an under strength Vale team with a number of first team players missing. Vale were over-run by some fine attacking moves, with Hanover adding another 3 goals.

This was good win for Hanover who showed some fine attacking qualities alongside a solid defence.

Hanover win away from home
U12 Div 1 26/11 10:00
Burrin Celtic AFC 0 - 3 Hanover Harps AFC

Hanover proved too strong for the home side during what was a very blustery day at the valley.

This was Hanovers first outing in this years U 12 division 1 league as they have been focusing on SFAI since the season began.

Both sides had chances in the first half but couldn’t capitalise. Supported by a strong wind Celtic had a few opportunities to break through but the Hanover defence stood firm. 0-0 at half time.

The visitors looked the hungrier side from the start of the second half and with the wind behind them they scored 3 fairly quick fire goals in succession through Aidan Fitzharris, Reece Walker & Tristan Cotter.

Best for Burrin were Ethan Rooney, Bill Roberts and Robbie Kelleher.

Hanover Harps AFC 3 - 0 Dungarvan

Hanover Under 16's qualified for the quarter finals of the SFAI Cup South East region after a hard fought victory over a good Dungarvan team in The Plots on Saturday afternoon. The Waterford team got their passing game going early and had Hanover on the back foot in the early stages. A combination of good defending and a bit of good fortune saw the home goal survive a series of corners. As Hanover came more into the game it was from a corner they took the lead when a ball delivered to the back post by Bailee Cooney was met by the head of Cody Molloy who made no mistake.

The goal unsettled Dungarvan and the home team could have doubled the lead before the referee blew for half time.Facing the wind in the second half Hanover had more of the ball than in the first half where there was signs of rustiness not having played for six weeks.Try as they did, Dungarvan couldn't find a way through with Ewan Breen in the home goal showing excellent handling in difficult conditions. The home team got their second goal when Eoin Ryan's pass freed Aaron Cunningham Burke behind the defence and he rifled a shot across the keeper in the corner. The game was made safe when a surging run from Eoin Ryan left him one on one and he made no mistake slotting the ball home.Unfair to single out individuals as only a great team effort brought about the win against a very good and well drilled Dungarvan side.

Freebooters 5 - 0 Hanover Harps AFC

A very cold November night in The Watershed in Kilkenny for the meeting of Freebooters and Hanover Harps in the sfai cup. If the gathering of ice on the bottom of their boots was anything to go by Harps knew they were in for a tough night against a very organized and well coached team in Freebooters, As soon as the 4th minute Freebooters were ahead with a well worked goal and soon after they doubled their lead with a deep cross that found the inside of the net on the back post. Harps managed to eventually gain some composure with a couple of forays into the home teams half but to no avail. The score remained 2-0 at the break.

Booters started much the same in the second half but Harps were definitely more up for it and try as they might just could not break down a stern defence in the Kilkenny men. Freebooters went up the other end and were awarded a penalty for what looked like a fair challenge but Harps pleas fell on deaf ears and the penalty was duely dispatched, 3-0 to the home team and naturally the carlow men's heads began to drop though they never gave up the fight and eventually succumbed to number 4 and 5 of the night. A tough night for Harps and a thoroughly deserved 5-0 win for Booters who advance to the next round whilst Harps will get another run out in the sfai trophy, Well done to both sets of players

On a fresh November afternoon, Hanover Harps played host to Park Rangers of Waterford in their Cup Game. Both teams came out hungry for the win but it was Hanover that opened the score line after just 30 seconds of play with an opportunist goal from Timmy Adeleye. It was a good physical start to the game and Park Rangers replied with an equaliser in the 7th minute. Still anyones game at this early stage with neither team backing down. Half time score 1-1.

In the second half Hanover upped their game and were very unlucky not to go ahead with a penalty saved by the Park Rangers keeper and then a great shot that rattled the cross bar. All Hanover now and they got their deserved breakthrough after 56 minutes with a fantastic header from Alex Mazur. And then only 1 minute later another fantastic header from Alex Mazur. Hanover Harps AFC 2 - 1 Parkville United AFC

Kick off between Hanover Harps AFC and Parkville United AFC was bathed in very welcome Autumn sunshine following a very wet week. Parkville United were the best team in the first half of the game dominating in all areas of the field. The visiting side had a couple of very good chances in the half to put a score on the board with an excellent volley hitting the back of the Hanover Harps net only to be ruled off-side. However, it was Hanover Harps who scored first following a penalty score by Andrian Robu after Nathaniel Jakubiec was fouled in the box. Parkvillle United continued to play very well and the team were rewarded with a goal just before the end of the half to bring the game level.

After a lacklustre start from the home team, Hanover Harps went up a gear or two in the second half, fighting hard to take points away from the encounter. Like Parkville United in the first half the home-side had many scoring opportunities and were more comfortable on the ball. Owen Fitzharris finally broke the deadlock scoring from a well-judged cross in from Cian Howard on the right wing. A few more scoring opportunities were missed with the best chance of a third goal just skipping over the top of the goal following a header from Owen Fitzharris.

Hanover Harps were lucky to come away with the win following a great display of football by Parkville United. Best for Parkville United on the day were Bobby Cullen, Paidi Connolly and Thomas Doran.Players who stood out for Hanover were Nathan Walsh, Masfie Islam and Cian Howard.

Vale Wanderers AFC v Hanover Harps AFC
One goal in it
U14 Div 2 29/10 11:45
Vale Wanderers AFC 1 - 2 Hanover Harps AFC

The poor weather didn't dampen the spirit or the efforts in an entertaining match at The Superbowl this morning.

An opening quarter saw both sides weigh each other up without a clear opening being created.

James Aughney, in the Vale goal, was quick off his line to dominate his area and mopped up Hanover's through balls.

But it was the away team who struck first, with Nathan Walsh grabbing the opener.

The Vale back 3 regrouped and the home side started to play their way into the game with some good balls from midfield and forward runs being made - Shaun Sibanda almost getting clear on a couple of occasions.

Vale won a freekick and Diarmuid Redmond stepped up to blast the ball to the back of the net from about 22 yards out.

The scores were level at half-time at 1-1.

The second half was much the same, with Hanover having the lion's share of possession but Vale defending comfortably and threatening on the counter.

The final ball just let the home side down on a few occasions, most notably when a diagonal through ball from Redmond just went inches beyond Matthew Jordan's run from deep, which would surely have seen him score.

Hanover came more and more into the game and grabbed the winner with approx 10mins to go with a goal from Adrian Robu.

Hanover's winning start to the season continues while Vale are left looking at their next match for their first point, but the gap between the teams was much closer today than the league table suggests.

There were a number of good performances for Vale today with Conor Stanley, Tommy Dunne and Joey Drea giving their all.

Best for Hanover were Cian Dolan, Masfie Islam and Colin King.

Hanover got a corner and Cian Dolan placed it on the head of Alex Broderick who happily powered it into the back of the Nurney goal.
