Good game.
U14 League Div 1 07/03 11:30
St Patrick's Boys AFC 2 - 1 Killeshin AFC

This was a game that had it all. The game 2as played under ideal conditions.

It started at a hectic pace with Pat's off the mark from the start. Pat's attacked hard but could not score against a determined and well trained Killeshin side. After 15 minutes a cleaver ball was passed to Dan Corcoran who put it across the goalkeeper and into the net.

Against the run of play killeshin scored after 24 minutes and attacked Pat's for the next 10 minutes on the break with long balls supplied by their excellent goal keeper.

Parts started the better on the 2and half but Killeshin managed to keep them out until a penalty was awarded when Oisin Daly was pulled down in the box. Sean Murphy put the ball in the back of the net. 2 -1 Pat's. Pat's attacked for the rest of the half and excellent goalkeeping and a dogged defence stopped Pat's scoring.

Final result a win for Pat's. Great Killeshin team effort. Best for Pat's Oisin Daly, Sean Murphy & Lorcan Dempsey. Man of the match Sergio G.

Hanover were simply impossible to deal with this morning scoring 9. Damien Corrrigan with 2 along with Riogan Doran. Sean Ryan, Ryan Fitzgerald, Jamie Wlaker, Daire Dooley, Roland Sanni all chipping in with a goal each. A great all round team performance based on simple but effected football. Killeshin with some key players missing fought as hard as they could but to no avail, Zach Owens with the only shot on target in the second half. Jack Brennan put in some shift along with Tristan Owens but in the end the mountain was to high. Killeshin knew its was going to be tough against a well organised Hanover side and that it was.

Hanover took the three points after a tough battle with Killeshin in The Plots on Saturday afternoon. The final score doesn't tell the story of a game that was tense and tight with no quarter asked or given. The game began with few chances as both teams fought hard to gain an advantage in midfield.

This pressure resulted in a 2nd goal for Joeys when Cian Campion scored with a fine shot in the 40th min. 3-2 to Killeshin, and a tight game. Both teams had their chances over the next ten minutes. Killeshin's Mackenzie Mc Ivor was getting quickly up the right wing and crossing dangerous balls into the St Josephs box. James Cranny for St Josephs was also causing the Killeshin defence to work hard. It was end to end football. Killeshin finally ended the tight contest when in the 59th min, Adam Siegers fine shot found the back of the Joeys net. It was 4-2 to Killeshin and St Josephs had no way back.
