Vale Wanderers AFC v New Oak Boys AFC
Vale hit for six
U13 div 1 05/11 10:00
Vale Wanderers AFC 0 - 6 New Oak Boys AFC

A battling first half from Vale saw New Oak leading by a solitary goal which gave the home side heart for the second half, but despite battling performances from Sean Foley & Brendan Byrne in midfield, the game ran away from the home side.

A lovely passing move saw Shaun Sibanda played in on goal but he pulled his shot agonisingly wide of the far post and the chance for an equaliser was gone.

Vale struggled to string passes together and New Oak made their possession count, grabbing another 2 goals in quick succession.

With the match at 0-3, an injury to Sean Foley saw a reshuffle in the Vale midfield but they lost their shape and conceded 3 more without reply.

Vale will look back at the first 40 minutes of the match and try to build on that moving forward.

Best for Vale were Brendan Byrne, Seán Foley, Shaun Sibanda and Joey Drea.

Keelan Brennan 3

Oisin Rice 1

Best for New Oak were Kayden Dargan, Dara Tunstead, Joshua Walsh and Noah Duffy.

What a fantastic game of football played by both teams this morning in Hawkins Lane.

It was New Oak who was first on the score sheet with a fantastic header by an unmarked Joshua Walsh into the top corner of the Parkville net.

The game was 0-1 at the halfway mark with both teams equally matched.

Both teams found the net in the second half with Parkville's Páidí Connolly scoring an outstanding goal and New Oak's Keelan Brennan adding a further goal to his collection this season.

Just before the final whistle blew New Oak added a third goal by Fiach Donnelly and taking a well deserved win today

Final score Parkville 1 - New Oak 3

Enjoyable game of football to watch and superb performance by both teams

Bally finish strong to beat old rivals New Oak
U12 Div 1 26/11 13:00
Ballymurphy Celtic 2 - 1 New Oak Boys AFC

In a game played in bad weather conditions

The two teams served up an outstanding game,Bally played against a very strong wind in the 1st half, and an unbelievable defensive display from the goalkeeper and 3 backs after some heavy pressure from new oak who had big help due to the heavy wind, but due to Ballymurphys strong character they took the lead 25 mins to a great Noah fitzpatrick goal,so 1-0 at the break.

Bally showed no slowing down as the whistle blew for the start of 2nd half, and even though the wind had died,a good new oak side had no answer to the pressure put on by Bally,it was attack after attack, and then against the run of play new oak equalised

It was a nail in the heart to take but the penny dropped with the Bally lads, who really went into 5th gear in the final 10mins,it was two and fro and Callum Kelly brought off 3 great saves in succession,a display that his goalkeeping coach shay ivers will be proud of.

And it came down to the resilient Bally tearing down the wing with Rory Murphy and Finn scully tearing the new oak defence to shreads and a pass in to the brilliant Noah Fitz to put past the new oak keeper,to win the game for Bally in the last few mins,a richly deserved win.

The 9 starting team and two subs, were magnificent and its a game I think that would be impossible to single out any Bally player but a huge mention has to go to Joe Walsh at centre back who stood strong along with John Joyce and Ardagh O Shea.

It was a great team performance from a gallant new oak side.

Vale Wanderers AFC 1 - 5 New Oak Boys AFC

What appeared a difficult fixture on paper for the home side was made all the harder by having to play the opening 15mins with 10 players.

But Vale battled hard and were only a goal down when they got the full complement on the pitch.

Adam Keating put in an excellent shift and was alert to every through ball that New Oak played.

There were half chances at both ends but New Oak looked the more likely to score and they had doubled their lead at half-time.

Vale came out in the second half showing a bit more composure and determination.

Conor Ryan, Frankie Doyle and Bill Hayden combined well to create an opportunity for Ruairí Farrell to time a late run into the area and finish from close range, making it 1-2.

It looked like Vale were coming back but some sloppy play let New Oak in to score again with Luke Honeyball getting a hand to it but unable to keep it out.

At 1-3, Bill Hayden went closest for the home side, hitting the post with a brilliantly taken header that really deserved to hit the net.

The disappointment of that not crossing the line seemed to drain the Vale player's energy and New Oak went on to add two more including an excellent strike from distance.

Best for Vale were Adam Keating, Josh Dermody, Conor Ryan and Bill Hayden.

Stoneyford United v New Oak Boys AFC
New Oak Boys bow out of SFAI Competition after penalties
19/11 13:00
Stoneyford United 2 - 2 New Oak Boys AFC

On a cold and blustery afternoon in Knocktopher, both sides took their time to settle in to the game and adapt to conditions. Little goal mouth action or chances for either team in the early stages of the first half. However on 18mins, good work down the right yielded a corner to New Oak and with a delightful ball in from Keelan Brennan, a scramble insued and New Oaks Zack Kelly was on hand to drive left footed to the back of the net to give New Oak the lead. It was 2 soon after as New Oak started to dominate possession and a long ball into the box caused panic in Stoneyfords defence and a clear handball resulted in a penalty to New Oak. Up stepped New Oaks captain Cormac Lowry to cooley slot the ball to back of the net, with the help of the post. Stoneyford didn't drop their heads either and good work down the right resulted in a corner for them just on the stroke of half time. The ball broke to the edge of the box from corner and Stoneyfords no 4 drove a sweet shot to back of New Oaks net to make it 2-1 at half time.

With the wind behind them, New Oak dominated the ball for the early stages of second half but Stoneyford broke upfield and a long ball into the box caused a bit of a mix up which resulted in a penalty, which Stoneyfords no 11 put away to make it 2-2.

Both side had chances to win it and New Oak even hit the post but it ended 2-2 after 60mins.

10min a side in extra time couldn't divide the teams or generate a goal and so it went to a penalty shootout. It was 3-3 after 5 penalties apiece and when New Oaks first penalty in Sudden Death was saved by Stoneyfords goalkeeper, Stoneyfords no 14 slotted home the decisive penalty to win the contest 4-3. Well done to Stoneyford and very hard luck to New Oak Boys, who on another day, could have been victorious.

Best for New Oak on the day was Cormac Lowry, Dara Tunstead, Conor Dooley and Zack Kelly. Best for Stoneyford were No 1, 4 & 7.

Emily carpenter then scored her 3rd and 4th goals just before the break to leave it 1-6 at HT.

A strong Bridge United side dominated from start to finish. An early goal blitz out New Oak under pressure going 3-0 down in 15 mins. Having to attack and chase the game, it became stretched for New Oak conceding 2 more before half time. Burrin Celtic hosted New Oak Boys AFC for the first time on a windy morning in The Valley Ballon. With both teams very evenly matched it was a great game from start to finish. The home team took the lead midway through the first half with some brilliant passing from the mid field right into the forward line finding Chloe Cunningham who popped the ball in past the New Oak keeper. It wasnt long before Chloe Cunningham stepped up for her second of the game with both teams fighting hard and having equal possession. U13 SFAI 22/10 12:15
New Oak Boys AFC 0 - 2 Bohemians FC Waterford

On a sunny but blustery morning in New Oak, Bohemians FC were the visitors for this second round of the cup. Bohs started well and dominated proceedings, and with the wind at their back, and a lovely splting pass on 11mins, no 9 toe poked beyond Nigel Coughlan to put the visitors 1 up. Bohs won a number of corners on the spin that were well defended but a long high ball thru the middle caused a bit of panic in New Oak defence and an unfortunate headed clearance found its way to the back fo the New Oak net to put Bohs in total control. New Oak started putting passes together and got down the right wing on a number of occasions but Bohs stood firm in defence. Keelan Brennan took on the Bohs defence with a direct solo run on 24 mins and brought out a brilliant save from Bohs goalkeeper, Cayden Morgan. Bohs ended first half on top but it ended 2 nil at the break to the visitors.

New Oak started the 2nd half with a point to prove and that they did. Early pressure by New Oak yielded a number of corners but couldn't get thru a resilient Bohs defence. Tough tackles were put in by both sides throughout, and tho both sides half a few half chances, no further goals were to be scored. It ended 0-2 to Bohs, who march on to round 3.

Best for Bohs on the Day were Cadyn Morgan, Eric Wiley and Darragh Cunningham.

Good effort by New Oak, especially second half with Keelan Brennan, Kian Hutton & Oisin Rice standing out. All the best to Bohs in next round.

New Oak Boys AFC 0 - 1 Carrick Utd

Sunny Saturday afternoon what a great day for an SFAI game.

New Oak started the stronger of the two sides with the first chance with Kiegan Lawor cutting in off the right wing shooting directly across goal, but Carrick Utds goalkeeper got a leg to it to keep the sides level. Carrick were well structured in defence dealing with New Oaks attacks one after another and playing off the counter attack.

Fifteen minutes in New Oak played a direct ball in behind which Kiegan caught on to, taking it around the goal keeper and passing it towards goal but Carrick Utds center back was there to clear the ball from the line at the final yard.

Carrick then gain control of the game from the twenty fifth minute onwards until the end of the first half.

Second have began with both teams picking up right where they left off, attacking end to end action, until fifth teen minutes into the second half Carrick Utd drew first blood when a New Oak mix up in midfield allowed a first time ball to be played in behind their back line where Carrick Utds number 18 picked it up facing New Oaks goalkeeper in a 1v1 which he calmly slots home giving Carrick a 1-0 lead.

New Oak aimed to equalise with the remaining time but Carrick remained calm, kept playing the same style of football and ended the match as 1-0 winners
