New Oak Boys AFC 3 - 0 Vale Wanderers AFC

New Oak maintained their unbeaten run and cemented their place on top of Div 1 with a hard earned 3-0 win over Vale Wanderers at New Oak this afternoon.

Plenty of possession and high pressing was the theme of the game for New Oak in the opening quarter of the game, bu Luke Honeyball kept his side in it with a series of good saves. However, on 19mins, the deadlock was finally broken when the ball broke to Cormac Lowry on edge of the box and his first time shot found the bottom corner of Vales net, making it a deserved 1-0 to New Oak. With continued pressure coming from New Oak when any time out of possession, they came very close to increasing their lead on 26mins, when Cormac Lowrys shot struck the foot of the post. Vale tried to push forward in closing stages of the first half but New Oaks defence stayed strong, and it finished 1-0 at half time.

New Oak immediately pushed forward from the kick off in the search for no2, but it was Vale who got down the field and a shot on goal required New Oak goalkeeper Nigel Coughlan to get down low to his left to save well.

6mins into second half however, New Oak got their deserved 2nd and it was a beautiful ball over the top from Cormac Lowry to Keelan Brennan whose first time shot found the bottom corner. It was tit for tat in midfield after that until 29mins in, a cross from Conor Dooley found Ruarai Delaney in a great goal scoring position but the shot was saved only for it to fall to the onrushing Daniel Custerson who couldn'tiss and made it 3-0, and this how it finished. Well deserved win for New Oak but it was hard fought from start to finish. Vale tried hard throughout and best for them on the day were Brendan Byrne, Logan Coleman, Sean Foley, James Aughney.

Best for New Oak were Cormac Lowry, Fiach Donnolly, Conor Dooley, Zach Kelly & Jamie McCormack.

Parkville 4-0 New Oak:

The league leaders started well with Noel Butler and Tomas Doran combining to set up Oisin Wall to fire just wide. It was all Parkville after that with chances coming from Tomas Doran, Oisin Wall and Bobby Cullen but kept out by the New Oak goalie. Parkville came again with good play out from the back by Johnny Kelly finding Tomas Doran who in return found Paidi Connolly to rifle it to the top corner for his and Parkvilles 2nd. New Oak had their chances aswell only to find an inform Bradley Stynes in the Parkville goal keeping them at bay and some last ditch defending from Denis Fitzgerald, Johnny Kelly and Bobby Cullen. Parkville stepped it up another gear after that an with some neat passing in midfield between Cody Doyle and Noel Butler. They found Oisin Wall to fire close home for his 1st and Parkville's 3rd..Then just before the break the goal of the game came when Oisin Wall picked the ball up on the half way line an spotted the keeper off his line to shoot from range for his 2nd an Parkvilles 4th..

New Oak dominated from first whistle in this contest and led 2 nil by half time, thanks to goals from Kealan Brennan and Ruairi Delaney, before going to score a further 4 goals in the 2nd half without reply.

The 2nd half started again with New Oak pushing forward with wave after wave attacks and 6mins in, Kian Hutton played in Kealan Brennan for his and New Oaks 3rd. Hanover Harps met New Oak today in The Plots on a dry but cold morning. Both teams were very evenly matched in the first half with goal chances few and far between. In the second half Hanover Harps came to life with a fantastic pass from Ronan Dooley for Timmy Adeleyes first goal in the 6th minute.

Hanovers dominance showed with Timmy notching another two goals for his hat trick in the 14th & 15th minute of the second half with great passes from Brian Louw and Alex Broderick. Hanovers back line was very solid with Alex Evesson having an outstanding game. A brilliant pass from Hanovers other centre back Adam Haughney to Brian Louw who cleverly slotted in Hanovers 4th goal. New Oak rallied throughout but it just wasn't going to be their day with Antonio Esposito scoring Hanovers 5th goal in the closing minute. Great day for Hanovers goalie Peter Breen Parle with first clean sheet of the season.
