It was the first meeting of both these teams this season in very wet conditions.

Both teams started brightly and it was New Oak who broke through after 10 mins with Realtin Ryan finish. On 19 mins New Oak were awarded a penalty which they seen fantastically saved by the Nurney keeper. Nurney battled hard to get back into it and they did when they scored twice in the space of two mins with goals from Natalia Deka & Rebecca Birmingham to leave Nurney on top at half time.

New Oak started the second half strong and after some fantastic defending from Nurney they finally found the net after a cracking strike from Aoibhe Halligan Murphy to bring it back to 2-2. New Oak pressed high up the pitch in the last ten minutes and seen again Aoibhe Halligan Murphy & Lucy Grogan finding the Net to make it 4-2 to New Oak Girls Pink.

Fantastic individual performances from all the New Oak girls while best for Nurney was Hannah Murphy, Holly Murphy & Carly Doyle.

A pleasant morning saw these two teams meet in Nurney where the home side started very strongly and went close on a number of occasions before Rebecca Bermingham opened the scoring for Nurney .She followed this up with 2 more to complete a first half hat trick whilst Natalie Deka added a fourth just before the brea to give Nurney a commanding half time lead .

To their credit New Oak came out strongly in the second half and although they battled to the end Nurney added further goals through a brace from natalia Deka before Alice Carroll completed the scoring .

Apart from the goalscorers others players of note for Nurney were Meabh Corcoran ,Isobel Kearney and Clodagh Cowman .

For New Oak Anna Gurhy , Emma Lyons and Issy Rea stood out in a team which never gave up till the final whistle .

Callum Burke was the undoubted star player in this u14 game, with the St Anne's player notching 5 goals in a comprehensive 9 1 win for the away side. Nurney battled well throughout but found a well organised st Anne's team hard to break down and who in turn countered at pace. The game started brightly with Burke slotting early on but Nurney responded really well with Christopher salmon pivoting in the box to square the contest. The visitors quickly responded with Miles nelligan making it 2 1 inside the opening 10 mins. With the wind at their backs St Anne's played on the break and with Tyler Noble impressing, chances fell to Burke, and colm Lynch and they duly found the net to leave the score 5 1 at the break. The home side battled hard with conor phelan and Brandon season defending well but St Anne's crested chances that were duly finished by Burke, Lynch and Jamie Julian. Miles nelligan came on and slotted a late penalty to complete the scoring for the visitors.

Kian Minchin started this match off with a goal inside the 1st minute. 20 minutes later Natalia Deka showed her class when she brilliantly rounded the goalkeeper and made it 2 nil. Nurney would go on to get 3 more in the 1st half, Finn Lawler getting 1 and Natalia Deka and Kian Minchin getting 1 more each.

Vale started the second half well and very quickly got a goal back with a fine finish from Bill Hayden. 3 more goals for Nurney by Eli Fleming, Alice Carroll and Christopher Salmon would finish the scoring in this game.

Nurney Villa u12 travelled to Clerihan FC in Tipperary for this u12 FAI trophy 2nd round tie. The weather conditions were poor with strong wind and rain blowing diagonally across the pitch. This favoured Clerihan in the first half.

Nurney conceded a penalty early in the first half. This was well finished by Ewan Byrne to give the home side that early advantage. Clerihan capitalised on the weather and worked through a further four goals in the first half, with Robbie O’Brien prominent.

Nurney enjoyed good periods of possession in the second half after the turn around. Aided by the wind they put some pressure on the Clerihan defence. Despite some close calls they didn’t score. Meanwhile Clerihan managed to work their way up the pitch to score again. Clerihan were a very well balanced team. Prominent for them were Noah and Robbie O’Brien, and Luke Keane (a second half scorer). Best for Nurney were Ben Maher, Finn Lawler and Jack Glynn.

St Joseph's welcomed Nurney to Mcardle's cross today for this local Derby, St Joseph's started the better and had the run of the chances, Daniel Byrne, and Donnacha Moran we're full of running and we're putting the Nurney Defence under pressure, Cillian Mc Ateer and Dán Kehoe we're very trick pushing forward from Midfield, however Nurney Goalkeeper Noah Doyle was on top form and kept them at bay, half time 0-0. Second half say Nurney improve and become more of a threat going forward, ten minutes in they were rewarded when Conor Salmon slotted home, St Joseph's fought hard for the equilizer and Nurney caught them on the counter attack to make it 2-0 with Adam Janus finishing past the advancing keeper, Max Duignan pulled one back to set up a fantastic last ten minutes, Joeys had a second ruled out for offside, Nurney finished off the Game when a Joeys Defender turned the ball into his own goal from a corner, Final Score 1-3

A good end to end game was played out in Tinryland this morning. Nurney settled the quicker and took a deserved lead from Natialia Detra after Christopher Salmon played a great pass. St Joseph’s started to play some nice football and Philip Adamansk nipped into to draw the teams level. Just before half-time Eli Fleming put Nurney back in front. The second half was and end to end affair with st Joseph’s pushing for an equaliser but Nurney held firm. Best for Nurney were Christopher Salmon and Arron O Brien while Noah Doyle made some great saves. Best for St Joseph’s were Niall Fennelly Alex Reid and Shay Ryan.

This game started out as a close game with both sides working each other out in the opening exchanges. As the flood lights came on after the first 15 mins the game sprung into action with both teams playing some nice football.

With the sides locked 0-0 at the break, Nurney pushed on in the second half with two early goals in quick succession to go 2-0 up. Vale were chasing the game at this stage and had some half chances but Nurney did well on the counter attack and grabbed another to go 3-0 up. In the latter quarter Vale pressed and were rewarded with a goal by James Aughney, but Nurney again punished some mistakes in defence to finish the game 4-1 winners. This was a closer more entertaining game than the score line suggests with both teams playing with great heart and the game was played in a great spirit.

Best Players were Conor Stanley, Adam Walsh and Josh Dermody.

Nurney Villa vs Parkville United u12 league division 1

Parkville came out on top in this competitive affair with Nurney in this division 1 under 12 league match.

Both sides were glad to have a game after the recent weather postponements.

Parkville started well with some good pressure on the Nurney goal.

Good defending by Nurney’s Andy Farrellń kept them at bay.

Nurney defended and passed well but didn’t put pressure on the Parkville goal.

Mid way through the first half Jack O Connor from Parkville picked up possession in defence and played a quick ball out to Tadhg Dempsey on the wing.

Dempsey split the Nurney defence with a weighted pass to Joe Leacy who finished neatly.

Half time was a welcome break for both teams.

Nurney pushed on at the start of the second half but the Parkville defense was solid.

Ben maher hit the Parkville post after some good Nurney play.

Parkville then struck again.

Liam Brennan whipped a ball into the Nurney penalty area for Jack O Connor to head the ball past Liam Nolan in the Nurney goal.

Nurney pressed hard to find a way back into the game but some resolute defending by Parkville, who were well marshalled by Jake Leacy at the back, saw them hold out for a 2 – 0 victory.

Best for Parkville were Jake Leacy, Jack O’Connor, and Tadhg Dempsey. Best for Nurney were Aaron O’Brien, Shane Glynn, Andy Farrell and Liam Nolan.

Nurney Villa travelled to The Meadows St Pats on a sunny Saturday morning.

It started well for both teams as both teams were having good possession spells as both were trying to break the deadlock. On 15 mins it was St Pats who took the lead when a corner was taken quickly to Cathal Farrell who passed to Evans Azeta who smashed a shot from 25 yards into the top corner make it 1-0. Nurney were always looking dangerous and pressed hard for an equaliser but just on the stroke of half time Jamal Adegoke hit a fine effort from just inside the box to make it 2-0.

Second half saw both teams create chances with both teams defences working very hard. St Pats went 3-0 when Ryan Doody set Cathal Farrell up to score another long range shot . Credit to Nurney they never gave up and had a great chance to score when Eli Fleming hit the post with a great effort . St Pats pushed further ahead when Eric Mihala score a fine goal after been introduced at half time. Domis Janusas was a torn in Nurney Villas side down the right wing and was rewarded with a fine goal from inside the box which made it 5-0 . St Pats make it three wins from three. Best for the home team were Ricky Matthews, Ryan Doody & Rian Cahill. Best for Nurney were Eli Fleming, Patrick Dermody & Christopher Salmon.

On what turned out to be a sunny morning In the meadows St Pats took on Nurney girls.

The pats girls got off to a lively start when Grace Walker scored the first goal. Pats continued the pressure and went 2-0 up from Katelyn Timmons.

Pats finished first half with a goal from mollie Cowman making it 3-0 at half time.

Nurney lost sarah Murphy through a knee injury. We wish her a speedy recovery.

Pats started the second half the same way and continued with a goal from Heidi Jones. Mollie followed up with another goal very quickly making it 5-0 to Pats.

Nurney pulled two back in quick succession through Ellen Barrett who was playing very well.

Pats got their 7th through Joanne Palmer Rivas.

Nurney got two back in the dying minutes through Ellen Barrett and Roisin Murphy.

Best for Nurney were Ellen Barrett, Roisin Murphy and Hannah Watters.

Best for Pats Grace Walker, Mollie Cowman and Katelyn Timmons

Nurney had an early lead as Killeshin conceded a penalty. A couple of minutes later Cole Coakley levelled the game with a good shot. They regained the lead a couple

Of minutes later before Killeshin got three goals in quick succession by Mikey Regan, Cian McNamara and Ciara Milton.

During the second half Killeshin’s Ciara Milton scored a beautiful shot from 25 yards out into the top left corner to make it 5-2. Killeshin had a relatively comfortable win in the end. The game ended 5.2. to Killeshin.

Hanover Harps took on Nurney Villa on a bright Saturday morning. The first half of this game was evenly matched with both sides having chances, most obvious for Nurney hitting the crossbar on the 8th minute.

The deadlock was finally broken by a thunderous strike on the 36th minute by Hanover's Rhys Walker, this was quickly followed up by an amazing run and finish by Hanover's David Dutu.

The 2nd half was a repeat of the 1st half, both sides having chances until the last few moments of the game

Hanover got a corner and Cian Dolan placed it on the head of Alex Broderick who happily powered it into the back of the Nurney goal.

Both teams displayed great chances with an all round great performance from Nurney Villa and Hanover.

Bridge rovers came out on top in this very close SFAI u12 2nd round clash in Castlebridge at 1pm on Sat 15th. October.

The final score was 1-0, but it could have gone either way. The teams were very even.

Bridge united have two u12 teams so this was their A team on show. The conditions were windy and showery but thankfully nothing that really affected the game.

Both teams had a good passing style of play with an emphasis on holding on to possession. Good defending was also a factor in keeping the score down.

In the first half Nurney attacked with some lively runs from Shane Glynn and Declan Kearney with some solid defence and goalkeeping keeping Rovers at bay.

Strong for Rovers in the first half were Jack Murphy up front and Jack Bursey in midfield.

At half time it was 0-0 with both teams needing a breather and a well deserved drink.

In the second half both teams were trying hard to create chances. Neither team could get that elusive goal. Midway through the second half some good work down the left hand side by Murphy for Bridge Rivers opened up the Nurney defence. Calum Norris was on hand to drill the ball to the Nurney net.

Despite a valiant effort by Nurney to claw back the lead, Bridge managed to last it out to the end. Bridge move on to the next round, and Nurney can hold their heads high after a good team performance.

Best for Bridge were Cian McNulty in goal, Rhys Carr in the backs, Jack Murphy and Calum Norris up front. Prominent for Nurney were Andy Farrell, Aaron O’ Brien and Declan Kearney.

Nurney recorded their first win on home soil with a good win against a gritty Parkville side on home soil. The first half was tense and tight and it took 2 cracking goals from Conor Phelan and Adam jeffares to give them a cushion. Their advantage was halved when Adam Plonka nicked a good team goal to leave it 2 1 at the break. The visitors had chances in the 2nd half but good defending by Cameron Curran and Brandon Searson kept them at bay. Parkville dis win a penalty but unfortunately the well struck shot was drilled narrowly over the bar. Goalie Noah Doyle was further tested in the Nurney goal but was upto the test on multiple occasions. Nurney sealed the points with a breakaway goal that was finished by Cian Minchin to leave it 3 1 at the end. Alex Sutherland and Aden Dunker impressed also for a gallant Parkville side.

Nurney villa and Crettyard Utd had a cracking game in the u12 SFAI cup match in Nurney today. Conditions were good, and both teams gave it their all. Nurney finished on top eventually on a score of 5-4, but didn’t have it easy. Both sides were very even.

Crettyard opened the scoring after Adam Rowan put away a penalty.

Nurney having been a bit slow to start came back through Finn Lawler who converted a penalty.

Lawler scored again after some sustained Nurney pressure.

Crettyard almost immediately responded with a goal from Darragh Curran.

At half time both teams were going well at 2-2.

Nurney went ahead again after a good run and finish by Ben Maher. Eoin Dowling straight away got one back for Crettyard. Nurney come again with a goal from Oliver Hughes. Dowling and Crettyard were not giving in. Dowling levelled it with a with 5 minutes to go. The game was exiting for all involved. Just as if was looking like extra time Oliver Hughes popped up again to get a late winner. In a game that no team deserved to lose both teams gave an excellent spectacle.

Best for Nurney were Donal Corcoran, Bobby Kidd, and Finn Lawler. Best for Crettyard were Sean Knowles, Adam Knowles and Eoin Dowling.

A v well organised and technically astute away side deservedly beat a hardworking home side in Nurneys new pitch. The halftime score of 4 1 showed how entertaining the game was with cracking goals from Eimear Bolger (2) keelie Doyle and Lucy kinsella. Nurneys sole reply was a great team goal with the hard working Ella Kearney teeing up Natasha Byrne. Nurney goalie zara farrell made some great saves too and was helped with good defending from Hanna Carroll and Elisha Nolan. The 2nd half saw good chances for both sides but nurney couldn't capitalise on them. Further Burren goals from ciara cahoon, isabelle finegan and a penalty to complete her hat trick from bolger, saw the away side gather the points.
