Burrin Celtic AFC 4 - 3 St Anne's AFC
On a cold morning in Ballon, both sides were evenly matched and played some good football. Bobby Finn got Burrin off to a flying start 3 minutes into the game with a cool finish into the corner. St Annes responded on the break and made it 1-1. Both sides created numerous chances but the two goalkeepers made some terrific saves. Jack Cantwell scored for Burrin to make it 2-1 after 15 minutes with another great finish. It was a bit back and forth as st Anne’s got their second to make it 2-2 at half time. St Annes came out in the second half and got the better of burrin for the first few minutes and went 3-2 up. The game was not short of excitement. After some great pressure from Burrin and some great individual play from the home sides midfield, Tadgh Campbell scored two goals to make it 4-3 to Burrin and seal all three points. A brilliant and clean game from both teams. Best for Burrin Celtic - Daire Nolan, Colm Donald, Tadgh Campbell and Aiden OBrien. Best for St Annes Conor Brennan, Will Duffy and Ryan Morgan and goal scorers Myles Nelligan x2 and Ryan Morgan.

St Anne's AFC 2 - 1 Hanover Harps AFC
The new year started with two of the top sides going head to head for first place in the league. St Annes started at quick pace to be awarded a penalty for a foul in the box. Niall Hickey stepped up and the shot was saved by Hanover keeper. The game was been played at a very high tempo when the ball came to Jack Julian who showed great footwork to pass some of hanovers defence to find bottom cornor of the net from fantastic strike.Annes pushed on and showed great passing and determination to defend and push Hanover. Hanover stayed strong and finished first half 1 0 to St Annes.Annes regrouped at half time and had lots of possession in the second half but Hanover found the back of St Annes net straight from a cornor kicked by Sam Mc Hugh with 10 mins to go in the match. St Annes were not going to give up as they played the game up to this with such great determination and it showed as from the restart of the goal, Annes pushed hard and Bryan Byrne came onto the ball to pass four hanover players on a great run only to finish with a super goal. Within seconds Annes had took the lead again. Hanover tried their best to punish Annes on the break but a fantastic effort from St Annes where the boys attacked and defended with such determination saw out the final whistle and the much deserved win went to St Annes. The game had it all great pace, skill, defending, saves and shots all controlled well from the referee who had no easy task. Best for Hanover were Daire Byrne, Aaron Burke and Cody Molloy. St Annes team is hard to give a best for as they played fantastic from 1 to 11 but Jack Julian,Ennae Byrne, Eoin Mulhall ,Niall Hickey were outstanding to name a few.

St. Pats welcomed St. Annes to The Meadows on a wet morning. Both teams started well with St. Annes edging it in the first 10 mins. Both teams were passing well and creating chances. On the 15 minute mark St. Annes opened the scoring with a goal from Jack Jordan. Pats were forced into a number of changes and formation due to injury. St. Annes took full advantage and soon after got them selves a penalty which was slotted home nicely by Niall Hickey. Pats were still in the game and had some lovely passages of play but just couldn't get past the very good St. Annes defence. The first half ended 2-0 to St. Annes.

Second half St. Annes pushed forward more but some good defending from Alex Donnelly Finn and Zak Hernan kept the score at 2-0. Pats suffered more injuries in the second half but by no means any fault to the St. Annes players who played the game in great spirits. Pats were fighting hard with Conor Buggy & Callum O Regan working hard in midfield. Pats started to get tired and it wasn't long before St Annes got their 3rd with Brian Byrne. St Annes finished very strong adding another 2 from Bryan Byrne & Ennae Byrne to make it 5-0. St. Pats kept playing thorough out and at times played very good football but just fell short. St Annes who are a very good team well deserved their win. Best for St Annes Sean Baldwin, Callum McElroy & Shane Baldwin. Best for St. Pats were Fionn Doyle, Zak Hernan & Alex Donnelly Finn

On a cold Saturday morning two local sides met in St Annes to what does be a very entertaining match between both sides. Annes started well and found the back of the net first from a header from the waiting Bryan Byrne. Crettyard started to play and piled pressure on St Annes defence but they stood strong. Annes went on to score again from Seamus Lynch to find the back of the net from some great footwork from Bryan Byrne only for the goal to be disallowed. Half time finished 1 0. Annes had the wind at their backs this half and piled on pressure to find the back of the net from Jack Julian who struck outside the box to the bottom conor. Annes tails were up and had shot after shot but they found the net again from another outside the box strike from Ennae Byrne. Crettyard tried to rally and catch St Annes on the break but both defence and keeper for St Annes stood strong. The last goal of the match was from Seamus Lynch to finish a cross to the box. St Annes had several more chances from some great passing but failed to find the back of the net again. A clean sheet for St Annes keeper. Overall very entertaining game. Best for St Annes were Calum Mc Elroy,Sean Baldwin and Eoin Mulhall. Best for Crettyard was Evan Dunne, James Keating, Bobby Rowan,Kyle O Reilly.

St Anne's hosted Crettyyard this morning in Baltic conditions. Both teams started well and all seemed even for the first 20 minutes. Crettyyard pushed forward on the attack with a great run from their left winger, Anne's defended well and put it out for a corner. The corner was very well taken but St Anne's defence had a bit of a scramble in the box which led to Crettyyards 1st goal. St Anne's kept the pressure on Crettyyards defence but couldn't seem to get it passed their strong number 4. With 5 minutes to go in the 1st half St Anne's Will Duffy intercepted on Crettyyards attack, looked up and cleared the ball to Ryan Morgan who took on player's on the right wing and crossed it into Roan Brennan who put it passed the Crettyards keeper to make it 1-1 going into the 2nd half.

St Anne's kept the pressure on Crettyyard in the 1st 10 minutes in the second half, Roan Brennan went on a great run going around Crettyyards defence and got taken down in the box, which lead to a penalty for St Anne's and with a very well taken penalty by Roan Brennan it put St Anne's going 2-1 ahead.

Crettyyard came back out fighting and created a lot of pressure on St Anne's defence, who had cleared the ball out for a corner. Crettyyard took a super corner kick which lead to Crettyyards 2nd goal to bring it back level. It looked like it was going to end 2-2 but Crettyyard gave it one last push and caught St Anne's defence out and Crettyyard took advantage of the open space and put it into the back of Anne's net.

Best for St Anne's: Will Duffy, Jamie Julian, Tiarnan O'Donoghue.

Best for Crettyyard: Great team performance

Bagenalstown AFC 1 - 1 St Anne's AFC

Bagenalstown hosted St Anne's on a cold bright dry morning. A bright start from both with both having even possession and some good defending from both sides. As the half went on St Anne's probably just shaded it with the advantage of a strong wind in their backs. St Anne's got a couple of free kicked in dangerous areas but never tested Kyle Clarke in the Bagenalstown goal. James Cushion and Adam Walsh both worked the wings well for Bagenalstown putting balls through to Daniel Whelan but strong defending from St Anne's kept him out. The sides went in 0-0 at half time.

Bagenalstown started stronger in the second half and started to push forward with the midfield of of Ian Craddock, John Lillis and Jack Kehoe but the strong defending of St Anne's managed to keep them at bay.

With 15 Minutes to go St Anne's were awarded a penalty for a foul just inside the box and it was put away by Niall Hickey. Bagenalstown had to throw everything at them for the last 15 minutes and they did with several attacks. It wasn't until 5 minutes remaining that they got their reward and after a goal mouth scramble Daniel Whelan managed to get it past the at St Anne's Keeper.

St Anne's tried to get the winner but the back four for Bagenalstown held strong for a 1-1 draw.

Best for At Anne's were Cillian Langton and Oisin Kelly

Best for Bagenalstown were Filip Kaczmarkiewicz, Adam Walsh, Eric Williams and Jack Kehoe

A big win for Parkville today in Hawkins lane against St Annes.

Parkville looked a stronger team from the start with their passing game and link up play at its best. Paudi Connelly made some excellent runs constantly taking on players on the left wing. Oisin wall opened the scoring and added two more to get his second hatrick in two games. Paudi Connelly and Noel Butler scored two each, and Will Myers who was outstanding at centre back also scored from long range.

Bobby Cullen cleared off the line with his head and Tymek Plonka made an incredible save late on to keep a clean sheet.

It was a strong team performance all around from Parkville.

Final score; Parkville 8 St Annes 0

New Oak Boys took the three points on offer with a brilliant second half display which seen them recover from being two goals down at half time. The hosts started the game really well and it wasn't long before the ever lively Kyle Kinsella got them off the mark with a well taken goal from the left side. The goal seemed to give the visitors a jolt and it livened their play up somewhat. Mark Hickey getting the first after getting in behind New Oaks defence after some smart play. Roan Brennan, the big No.8, getting himself on the scoresheet twice. The second was a looping effort which just got the better of Kennedy in the New Oak goal. New Oak were rocked! The home side pressed the Anne's defence and were unlucky to go in at half time two goals down. Cormac Murphy, Darragh Casey and Kaylem Geoghegan all going very close but couldn't find the back of the net. New Oak changed things up at the break and this made the difference. Needing an early goal to get themselves back into contention, three goals in 8 minutes was to follow for the Burrin Road outfit and this was the turning point of the game. Kaylem Geoghegan, Cormac Murphy and Darragh Casey getting on the scoresheet. New Oak were flying now and they attacked the Anne's defence time and time again. They needed one more to make things comfortable but got two!! Tobias Stobra and Leigh Slattery putting daylight between the sides. Stobra making a real difference when brought on assisted with two of the home sides overall tally. A good morning for the young winger! Others to impress for New Oak were Siobhan Sinnot and Mia Farrell. For St. Anne's Tiernan O Donoghue, Mark Hickey and Roan Brennan were stand out performers.
