Parkville United AFC 1 - 1 St Joseph's AFC

Parkville hosted St.Joseph’s at Hawkins Lane. Both teams had their defences well organised as attacks were in changed for the first 20 minutes with out any keeper really being tested. It took a mistake by the Parkville defence to allow Corey Ryan for the visitors to open the scores on 24 minutes. The first half finished 0-1 in the same fashion.

Second half was much the same with both teams playing very conservatively in defence. The visitors were unlucky not to make it 0-2 with a free kick stricking the crossbar mid way through the second half. Parkville drew 1-1 when St.Joseph’s failed to clear a corner with Jack Byrne netting from close range.

1-1 was the final score. A fair result.

Hanover Harps AFC 5 - 4 St Joseph's AFC

Hanover Harps u12s took on a well organised St. Joseph's in very harsh conditions on the Plots this lunchtime. The game was well contested with much of the early exchanges taking place in a hard fought midfield battle. The breakthrough came when Shay OGrady broke down the wing and crossed to find Masfie Islam unmarked at the back post. The visitors were on level terms minutes later from a corner scored by Owen Fitzharris. Hanover then grabbed a second through a through ball from Diarmuid Redmond finding Nathainel Jakubiec who finished smartly. St. Joseph's were again level within minutes with a good run and finish from Sean Reid. Hanover restored their lead through a Redmond free kick finding O Grady who rose highest and nodded home. Hanover began to find some rhythm and the excellent Mael O Rock made it 4-2 going in for half time.

The second half saw Joseph's get much more joy on the ball and began to apply lots of pressure on a resolute Harps defense. Hanoner made it five from a counter attack with Senan Sheehan releasing Andrian Robu who cooly finished. From a free kick, Sean Reid was unmarked and tapped in to bring the visitors to three. The home side were pushed back from this point and eventually conceded a late strike from Owen Fitzharris to make it what would be the final score of 5-4.

Best for Hanover were: a super fought performance from the whole squad. Joe McDermot, Masfie Islam, Nathaniel Jukabiec and Diarmuid Redmond.

Best for St. Joseph's were: a great all round team performance, particularly Sean Reid and Owen Fitzharris.

A thoroughly enjoyable encounter in Hawkins Lane this morning with a late goal giving St Joseph's a deserved point. They started the brightest and took a deserved lead when No 11 Daniel Byrne headed home from a corner. This shook the home side into action and Joeys goalie was very fast of his line to make a few good saves. However Parkville kept plugging away and a lovely move down the left hand side set up Adrian Plonka who levelled matters with a sweet strike. Parkville. kept the pressure on but it stayed 1 . 1 at half time. The second half was end to end an half way through Parkville went in front thanks to a brilliant strike from a very tight angle by Tadg Nolan. St Joseph's then piled on the pressure to equalize and Luke Denton in the Parkville goal made some great saves to tkeep the home team in front. With time almost up that man Daniel Byrne popped up to break Parkville hearts and earn his side a point . A great game with St Joseph's putting in a great team performance. Best for Parkville were Theo Mcdonald, Maria Healey , Cormac Clifford and Angie May Doran.

Then on the stroke of half time a long ball from the Joey's keeper caught out the Bally defence which allowed the Sanits striker a close range shot only for Jack Ivers to make a brilliant save in the Bally Goal. HT 2-0

Bally completely dominated the second half and following to good missed chances from Joe walsh and Ava Doyle, Sean O Brien made no mistake with a great run and shot making it 3-0.
