St Pat's Boys 4-0 Slaney Rovers

It was a beautiful day for football down in The Meadows today and both teams didnt disappoint the small crowd at the game with some entertaining football.

It took a while for the deadlock to be broken in the first half and it came from the boot of Mark Buggy from the penalty spot after he was brought down.

HT 1-0

Second half was all Pat's and it didn't take long for Buggy to add a second and then very quickly a third to claim his hat-trick. Pat's dominated the game after that and were rewarded with an exceptional fourth, and goal of the game, by the boot of Shane Gurhy, who ran the second half.

Best for Pat's were MOTM Shane Gurhy, Mark Buggy and Matias Chamon.

A cold morning in the meadows hosted a exciting game of football.

St. Pat's started off well with Oisin Daly scoring in the first minute. Killeshin were stunned but recomposed them selves until the 20 minute mark when Oisin Daly got his second after a goal line scramble. Two further goals were rules off side before the end of an eventful half.

Half time 2-0

15 minutes into the second half Sean Murphy was played through on goal and finished it nicely into the corner. Soon after Sean Walsh curled the ball into the top corner from 30 yards out to make it 4. It was a world class goal and one which no goal keeper would ever be able to save. After 30 minutes Eric Reynez smashed the ball into the roof of the net to make it 5-0. Ruarc Murray added another goal after 37 minutes to finish off a great win for St.Pats

Killeshin had a great team effort and were unlucky not to get a goal.

For St. Patrick's Boys AFC it was an exceptionally performance from all 17 players.

Both teams started well with Crettyard hitting the post twice and a goal disallowed for offside. But it was pats who went ahead with a goal from Connor Buggy. Pats keeper made another fine save to deny Blake Rice and it was 1 nill at the break. In the second half it was very even and Ruari Mc Evoy who slotted passed the Crettyard keeper. But straight away Crettyard pulled one back with a great strike from Killen Gorman. That gave the Crettyard the momentum and a great through ball from Bobby Rowan to Patrick Fox and he made no mistake to leave it 2 2.Both sides had a couple of more chances but thats the way it finished. Best for Pats was Eoin White Corey Purcell and Conor Buggy. Best for Crettyard was Jack Doyle Niall Kealy Bobby Rowan and Blake Rice

Parkville United AFC 2 - 2 St Patrick's Boys AFC
A very enjoyable match in Hawkins Lane today with a draw a fair result in the end.The home side started the brightest with Maria Healey and Adrian Plonka being denied by good goalkeeping and solid defending from St Pats. The visitors grew into the game and made the breakthrough thanks to a great strike from no 10 Arsene. It was all St Pats from then until the break and they doubled their lead, again Arsene on the mark. Parkville regrouped at the break and came out flying in the second half creating several chances but not able to convert. The pressure finally paid off half way through the half when Maria Healey finished off a good move from Adrian Plonka. With time running out Parkville levelled matters thanks to Adrian Plonka. Both sides had chances to win but both keepers were on form with Luke Denton making a fine late save for the Tullow side. Best for St Pats were Thomas Lawlor, Marcin Plaka, Summer Doorley and Darragh McDarby. Best for Parkville were Angie May Doran, Adrian Plonka Luke Monaghan and Tadg Nolan.

Nurney Villa AFC 4 - 3 St Patrick's Boys AFC
A titanic battle in wild conditions in Nurney saw the home side prevail in a 4 3 thriller thanks to a brilliant hat trick from Ben Kelly. The number 9 was a constant thorn in the gallant Pats side. The opening was bright with chances especially for Nurney but rhe couldn't convert. Their wasteful shooting was then punished in quick concession by 2 great break away goals by summer doorley and Jamie cooney to leave St pats up by 2 at the break. The home side played into a strong wind in the second half but Kelly took the first of his goals early on to give them Hope. With Liam Murphy and conor phelan beginning to boss the game more and Danny Murphy in defence, nurney began to create more and it wasn't long before Kelly got his 2nd to equalise. St pats though didn't lie down and Mikey hand and the impressive Thomas lawlor began to get really involved. This pressure saw marcin pawlak finish brilliantly to give them the lead again. Not done, nurney replied soon after with Liam Murphy on target following good work by tadhg Doyle and Brandon searson. There were chances at both ends before man of the match Ben Kelly completed his hat trick past the excellent St pats custodian Liam Moran. A thrilling game and one that both teams can take great heart from going forward.

Hanover Harps welcomed St Pats to The Plots for the first game of the new year, this game was an exciting game from start to finish, fantastic soccer was played from both sides. Hanover seemed to apply a lot of pressure but St Pats defence stood strong to keep them at bay. TJ Brennan latched on to a throw ball from Peter Lynch and his shot was gathered up by the St Pats keeper. St Pats Mark buggy made a good run up and shot and Conor McDaid saved well. Hanover applied more pressure and shots from TJ Brennan and Axel O Rock could not find the back of the net, which saw the half time whistle

Hanover 0- St Pats 0

Second half started much the same with both teams applying pressure, some great soccer being played. It took 15 mins into the second half before the dead lock was broken Mark Buggys shot slip through the hands of the Hanover keeper. Shortly after the kick off Timmy got on a throw ball from Leon Fitzgerald and his shot hit the cross bar. The game phased out a bit and both teams never gave up, which saw the full time whistle

St. Pats welcomed St. Annes to The Meadows on a wet morning. Both teams started well with St. Annes edging it in the first 10 mins. Both teams were passing well and creating chances. On the 15 minute mark St. Annes opened the scoring with a goal from Jack Jordan. Pats were forced into a number of changes and formation due to injury. St. Annes took full advantage and soon after got them selves a penalty which was slotted home nicely by Niall Hickey. Pats were still in the game and had some lovely passages of play but just couldn't get past the very good St. Annes defence. The first half ended 2-0 to St. Annes.

Second half St. Annes pushed forward more but some good defending from Alex Donnelly Finn and Zak Hernan kept the score at 2-0. Pats suffered more injuries in the second half but by no means any fault to the St. Annes players who played the game in great spirits. Pats were fighting hard with Conor Buggy & Callum O Regan working hard in midfield. Pats started to get tired and it wasn't long before St Annes got their 3rd with Brian Byrne. St Annes finished very strong adding another 2 from Bryan Byrne & Ennae Byrne to make it 5-0. St. Pats kept playing thorough out and at times played very good football but just fell short. St Annes who are a very good team well deserved their win. Best for St Annes Sean Baldwin, Callum McElroy & Shane Baldwin. Best for St. Pats were Fionn Doyle, Zak Hernan & Alex Donnelly Finn

Burrin Celtic AFC 5 - 1 St Patrick's Boys AFC

Some great football was on display in this top of table clash between Burrin Celtic and St Patricks at the Valley. Both teams had a couple of openings before Celtic's captain Matthew Drought finished a good passing move to put the home side ahead.

Burrin kept the pressure on and scored twice more with Charlie Clarke finishing a good move and Edward O'Byrne scoring a fine solo effort. St Patricks rallied with a strong response but Freddie Gibson got on the score sheet just before halftime to put Celtic 4-0 up at the break.

In the second half both teams had good spells and Freddie Gibson got his second goal by chipping the keeper from distance. St Pat's didn't give up and kept pressing on and were awarded a penalty which Mark Buggy converted to leave the final score 5-1 to Celtic.

St. Pats 0 - Hanover 6.

St. Pats hosted Hanover on cold morning in Graiguecullen. The first 10 mins of the game both teams were trying to find their feet but it didn't take Hanover long after that to get a foothold on the game. There were very few chances in the 1st half but Hanover had more of the possession. Pats hit the crossbar with a great effort by Corie Purcel. But Hanover soon hit back with a goal before half time to leave the score 1-0 at the half time break.

The 2nd half was a different story and it was all Hanover with a very good team performance from them. Some excellent passing and a great display by their back 4. Sean Hayden caused St. Pats a lot of trouble and the Pats defence just couldn't contain him at all. Hanover went on to score 5 more in the second half with some very well taken goals. Scorers for Hanover were Daire Byrne (3), Cody Molloy(1), Sam Mchugh (1) and Darragh Redmond (1). A very good team performance from Hanover but the players who stood out were Sean Hayden, Jason Dillon & Bailee Cooney. On a day to forget for St.Pats there were a few players who kept fighting, most noticeably, Shayne Atkinson & Callum O Regan. The game ended 6-0 and a well deserved win for Hanover who were the better team from start to finish.

Hanover Harps 2 v 1 St. Pats

Hanover just about came out on top in this entertaining Sfai encounter played in The Plots.  Hanover started brightly and forced the early pace earning a number of corners.  On one such occasion 10 minutes in , a good delivery by Senan Ryan was bundled home by Jamie Walker.  For the rest of the half, it was a cagey affair with St. Pats creating a couple of half chances which weren’t converted. 1-0 at half time.  In the second half, St Pats applied a lot of pressure in search of a goal.  They too forced a number of corners and from one such Sean Murphy corner, Oisin Daly, having threatened twice previously,  headed home to give St Pats a deserved equaliser 6 minutes from time.  It looked like the game was destined for extra time but Roland Sanni well into injury time picked up the ball on the left and crossed for Jamie Walker to steer a header in to the bottom corner much to the delight of the home support.  St Pats launched in a couple of balls trying to force another equaliser but the Hanover defence managed to hold on for a hard earned victory.

Great squad performance from Hanover Harps.

Oisin Daly, Marc Mulhall and Oran O’Reilly impressed for St Pats.

Man of the Match: Jamie Walker
