Full time score 0-0. Best for Burrin Celtic Grace McDonald, Aine Deacon, Hanna Brophy and Sophia Blanche.

Nurney conceded with the first goal of the match by Ellen Barrett after 7 minutes of play. Ballymurphy Celtic responded quickly with a goal in the fifteenth minute from Grainne Grenann assisted by Rachel Kennedy and Ava O’ Dwyer. Some great defending my Mia O Neill and Rachel Martin, however, Nurney fought hard and conceded another goal from Kelly Tobin before the half time whistle. The second half started with a fight between both teams defences. Plenty of shots on target, which were unsuccessful due to the brilliant saves from Aine Doyle. After a handball play. A penalty was given to Ballymurphy Celtic where Mia O Neill stepped up with a powerful kick but just missed the mark. Match ended in a 2-1 victory to Nurney. This was a very good game with two very determined teams. Ballymurphy started the better and forced a couple of chances through Orla Coleman and Graiine Grennan. New Oak gradually built their way into the game and took the lead on 14 mins. New Oak increased the lead on 22 mins and another great goal on 28 mins made it 0-3 at HT.

HT 0-3

Ballymurphy started well again in the second half and pulled a deserved goal back on 45 mins when Addison Duggan broke up the play in midfield and set Grainne Grennan free who shot low and hard only for the New Oak keeper to make a great save, however Ava Doyle was on hand to volley the ball home after her first game back since September following a bad injury. 1-3.

New Oak turned the screw again and grabbed a 4th and a 5th in quick succession on 56 and 57. Ballymurphy continued to keep plugging away and were unlucky not to get a second through Caoimhe Cummins while at the other end Therese Kennedy made two fine saves to keep the score at 1-5. However two late goals by New Oak killed off the Bally challenge.

After the Christmas break both teams were well rested and ready for the match at a windy and cold Superbowl.

In the first half both teams had periods of great attacking football, only matched by the defensive effect the teams put in. Alisha Nolan was on the end of a well worked Vale Wanderers attack scoring the only goal of the first half.

The second half started off much like the first with both teams putting in a power of work. Vale Wanderers were able to secure a second goal through Abbey O'Gorman early in the half. Ballymurphy Celtic dominated the next 15 minutes of the match with attack after attack, they were rewarded with a goal by Hannah Duggan. Vale Wanderers were able switch from defending for a long to attack with Sinead Sibanda scoring late in the match and securing a long-awaited second win for Vale Wanderers.

New Oak Boys AFC 0 - 1 Ballymurphy Celtic

On a cold blustery morning on the Burrin Road, New Oak welcomed Ballymurphy. In a tough physical battle all over the field, it was New Oak who pressed from the start but it was Ballymurphy who came closest to opening the scoring on 16mins when James flood was put thru down the right but he shot across goal and wide as the angled narrowed.

Second half started in same vein and New Oak continued to press all over the field when out of possession but couldn't find the final ball to trouble Ballymurphy keeper. On 40 mins, somewhat against the run of play, Ballymurphy broke down New Oak in the centre of the field and were pushed wide but as New Oak were about to clear, Ballymurphys no 10 Sean O Brien got in front of New Oaks defender and lobbed New Oaks keeper from 25 yards to make it 1-0 to the visitors. New Oak tried to step it up in search of an equaliser and did come very close with Cormac Lowry only for Jack Ivers to save on the line. The last 5 mins of the match saw New Oak with a number of corners but to no avail and Ballymurphy held on for all 3 points. For Ballymurphy, Sean O’Brien was the goalscorer, Shane Jordan,Charlie Foley and James Flood also played well

First time for both these sides to meet this season in a very windy day.St Annes started strong and were against the wind in the first half but Ballymurphy took full advantage of the wind and piled on pressure to St Annes defence line.Ballymurphy got a free kick which ended up in back of St Annes net. Annes were under pressure but some brillant defence from Annes especially Max O Connor , and goal keeper Andrew Knowles with some brillant saves in the goals saw the first half end 1 0 to Ballymurphy. Annes had the wind at their back in the second half and they used it well piling on pressure to Ballymurphys defence, Annes were unlucky with some close calls with corners and some great attacking play but Ballymurphy held strong. Annes goal came from a free kick taking by Oisin Kelly to hit back of the net the game was all to play for then. Ballymurphy tried to rally back a goal for the win but it was Annes who were unlucky not to hit the back of the net again with some great play from Annes.Overall a great game of soccer from both sides. All of Ballymurphy played well and best for St Annes were Max O Connor, Andrew Knowles,Oisin Kelly and Logan Brennan.

St Fiaccs 4 Ballymurphy 2

St Fiaccs used the full size of their squad for this fixture with some girls rested for an academy game but still came out on top in this tight game against a determined Ballymurphy. St Fiaccs started the best with Ashlee Smith and Ella Matthews going close following great work from Leah Nelson on both occasions but were denied by Aine Doyle in the Ballymurphy goal. It wasnt till the 23rd minute that Fiaccs eventually broke the deadlock following a great pass in the Fiaccs midfield to play in Ashlee Smith who rounded the keeper to score.

5 minutes later Ballymurphy were awarded a penalty which Mia O Meill converted.

St Fiaccs again took hold of the game and right on halftime went back in front through Ashlee Smith with her second of the game.

Ballymurphy started the second half slightly quicker and Grainne Grennan equalised deservedly. After this St Fiaccs started applying pressure to the Ballymurphy goal and created some great chances but just couldn't find the back of the net until Abbey O Shea who was just after coming on the field scored to give St Fiaccs the lead for the third time.

As Ballymurphy pushed forward again Hanna Kerfah found herself in space to seal the game for the home side.

Orla Keating, Leah Cummins Nelson and Ashlee Smith stood out for St Fiaccs while

Aine Doyle, Grainne Grennan and Rachel Kennedy were best for Ballymurphy

In a game played in bad weather conditions

The two teams served up an outstanding game,Bally played against a very strong wind in the 1st half, and an unbelievable defensive display from the goalkeeper and 3 backs after some heavy pressure from new oak who had big help due to the heavy wind, but due to Ballymurphys strong character they took the lead 25 mins to a great Noah fitzpatrick goal,so 1-0 at the break.

Bally showed no slowing down as the whistle blew for the start of 2nd half, and even though the wind had died,a good new oak side had no answer to the pressure put on by Bally,it was attack after attack, and then against the run of play new oak equalised

It was a nail in the heart to take but the penny dropped with the Bally lads, who really went into 5th gear in the final 10mins,it was two and fro and Callum Kelly brought off 3 great saves in succession,a display that his goalkeeping coach shay ivers will be proud of.

And it came down to the resilient Bally tearing down the wing with Rory Murphy and Finn scully tearing the new oak defence to shreads and a pass in to the brilliant Noah Fitz to put past the new oak keeper,to win the game for Bally in the last few mins,a richly deserved win.

The 9 starting team and two subs, were magnificent and its a game I think that would be impossible to single out any Bally player but a huge mention has to go to Joe Walsh at centre back who stood strong along with John Joyce and Ardagh O Shea.

It was a great team performance from a gallant new oak side.

Ballymurphy Celtic 2 - 2 Vale Wanderers AFC

A miserable afternoon in Ballymurphy seen Celtic drop their first points of the season.

Ballymurphy had a slow tired start. Was the toy show the night before to blame? The wind? The horizontal rain? Or was it the strong Vale side who started from the first whistle?

Vale were very dominant for the first 10 minutes. Winning every 50/50 ball. On 12 minutes Ethan Chambers found himself in space. He smashed a shot from just outside the box, the ball slipped through the goalkeepers wet gloves.1 nil Vale

Finally Ballymurphy got going and seen their best spell of the game. On 18 minutes Danny Jordan picked up the ball in the centre of the park. Clever footwork and a lovely through ball sent Sam Traynor away. Sam left two defenders in his wake before curling a lovely little shot to make it 1 all.

Four minutes later Ruairi O'brien put bally ahead. He went on a solo run down the right wing. His goal bound shot took a slight deflection and past the Vale keeper.

Bobby Ivers, in goal, ensures bally finished the half ahead when he bravely saved at the feet of an onrushing striker.

2 - 1 to Ballymurphy at halftime.

In the second half Vale, playing with the wind, really turned up the pressure and Ballymurphy seldom troubled the Vale goal. The trio of Frankie Doyle, Ethan Chambers and Conor Ryan in Vales midfield linked up really well. Vale created chance after chance but the bally boys stood their ground. With two in the first half and two in the second half has seen Zenon Jordan master the art of the last ditch tackle. Cillian Foley cleared ball after ball, never putting a foot wrong all game.

Eventually Vale, with a bit of luck, scored the equaliser on 45 minutes. Ruairi Farrell pounced on a loose ball and found himself 1 on 1 with Bobby Ivers. Bobby got a foot to the low shot but the ball trickled over the line.

2 all the final result.

Best for Ballymurphy: Zenon Jordan, Bobby Ivers, Cillian Foley.

Best for Vale: Frankie Doyle, Ethan Chambers, Conor Ryan.

A great game in New Oak this morning as New Oak Green hosted Ballymurphy. The game was played in great spirits by these two very young teams. Both teams started brightly in some blustery conditions with New Oak taking the lead in the 10th minute through Emily Carpenter. They then doubled their lead after 20 mins with a wonderful long range effort fro Aoibhinn Keogh. Ballymurphy pushed very hard but were denied by two wonderful saves from Eryn Ray in the New Oak goal. Ballymurphy pulled one back 5 mins before half time with a great strike from Grainne Greenan.

New Oak kept their foot on the gas in the second half and added two more goals through Luana Whelan and another from Keogh.

Ballymurphy never gave in and this young team will have better days.

The match end 4-1 to New Oak with Eryn Ray, Niamh Nolan and Kate Murphy standing out.

Best for Ballymurphy were Aoibheann o' Brien, Orla Coleman and Adison Duggan.
