Bagenalstown AFC welcomed Vale Wanderers AFC to the McGrath Park on what was a dry but windy afternoon.. Both teams battled hard for the first 20mins of the game with nice skills and defending shown by both sides. Bagenalstown AFC had a few corners but Vale Wanderers AFC's defence kept them at bay. Vale Wanderers AFC also had a few corners and were kept at bay by James Brennan, Matthew Stratton and Aodhan Hickey who worked hard in the Bagenalstown back line and John Lillis who played well in the goal. The first goal of the match came from a corner for Bagenalstown AFC the ball found Jake McAssey who put the ball passed the Vale keeper. Jason Salter,Sean Darcy and Niall Power played well in Bagenalstown AFC's midfield with chances for all stopped by a strong Vales defence.With a few minutes remaining in the first half Kelan O'Sullivan scored Bagenalstown AFC's second goal of the match. Scoreline at half time Bagenalstown AFC 2 Vale Wanderers AFC 0. Both sides started the second half well battling back and forth. Bagenalstown AFC Danny Travers got the ball and put it by the Vale Keeper with a cracker of a shot. Both teams kept up the momentum with chances missed on both sides. Bagenalstown AFC Paul Carroll scored the fourth and final goal of the game. It was a hard fought, well played game by both sides and was a joy to watch for spectators that were present this afternoon.
