Ballymurphy Celtic FC 3 - 2 Nurney Villa AFC

A late Lachlann Smith goal gave Bally all three points in this entertaining fixture in Ballymurphy this morning. Bally started the stronger and took the lead on 5 mins through Darragh Coleman with a great finish. Nurney pulled their way back in the game with their front two causing all sorts of problems for the Bally back four. HT 1-0

The second half produced 4 goals and was a really enjoyable game to watch as both teams went at it hammer and thongs. Nurney equalised on 40 mins with a low driven free kick. Bally responded 5 mins later when a Jack Foley free kick caused all sorts of problems for the Nurney defence who inadvertently turned the ball into their own net for an OG. Nurney however dug in again and deservedly got their equaliser with 7 mins left with a great strike.

However, with only 3 mins left on the clock Lachlann Smith bursted through the Nurney defence and cooly slotted home to give all three points to the men in white and green.

Bally closed out the game and a last ditch tackle from Joey Dalton saved them in the dying seconds.

Best for Bally were Lachlann Smith, Joey Dalton and Tommy Malone.

Nurneys front two and their goal keeper had outstanding games.
