Late late show wins it for Vale
Vale Wanderers 3 , Ballymurphy Celtic
It was an early morning start but a late late show from Vale to take the 3 points on offer .
Similar to last year's cup quarter final where Ballymurphy prevailed after penalties this time it was the turn of the home side to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. A game which had a breakthrough in the 6 th min with Odhran Murphy finishing low with a well placed drive . Exchanges were tight with Ballymurphy testing Robbie Honeyball with a number of free kicks especially but half time came with no further goals . A second Vale goal was needed to give them breathing space but it just wasn't coming , the visitors mopping up what was thrown at them and mid way through the 2nd period a bullet header from Toby Joyce from a corner made it 1-1 . Ballymurphy sensing victory upped it a gear and were rewarded with a close range finish from Eoin Condron for 2-1 . However with 26 mins gone in the half not unlike their first goal Conor Twomey finished low for 2-2 and then with just 30 mins played Vale were awarded a penalty for handball, Ciaran Bambrick stepping up to net what would prove to be the winner
Best for Vale , Adam Dowling, Radek Brezeniski, Conor Twomey while Ballymurphy were served well by Thomas Sheehan, Eoin Condron and Toby Joyce
