St. Pats U15 march on to the quarter-finals of the SFAI Trophy after securing a hard-fought 2-1 win in extra time against St. Kevin's. In the initial stages of the match, St. Kevin's dominated possession and created a number of chances, with Luke Dooley making a fantastic save to prevent St. Pats from going behind. However, Pats dug deep and gradually took control of the midfield, thanks to the efforts of Mark Buggy.
Despite having a number of opportunities to score, Pats found it difficult to break down a resolute St. Kevin's defense, and it was only towards the end of the first half that they finally managed to find the back of the net, with Kacper Zarzycki putting them 1-0 up at halftime.
In the second half, Pats continued to dominate but were unable to convert their chances, and St. Kevin's gradually began to find their way back into the game, eventually equalizing to make it 1-1. The match remained level at full-time, leading to extra time.
Both sides had their chances in extra time, but Pats looked the more likely to score, and with just three minutes left before penalties, Mark Buggy produced a moment of magic to score the winning goal and send Pats through to the next round. The match ended 2-1 in Pats' favor, and their victory was well-deserved. Standout performers for Pat's included Ruari McEvoy, Mark Buggy, and Dawid Jarmakow.
